Was in a books for donations charity box so stuck in £1. Quite interesting for a student of penal institutions though most known.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

Does the Newcastle regression follow a similar curve to the England regression?

Re: Currently Reading
Currently 55% through this (first time on a Kindle really).
It's alright. Can't make my mind up about the author - there are some funny moments, but it just feels like it's a massive effort from him to make something mildly amusing.
Lots of interesting history and having visited NZ 5 years ago, it's interesting to read another's view on some of the places I went to.
So far 6 out of 10, and it was FREE, so cannae really complain.

Actually I did put it down for quite a while.
I've finished it now
What a fucking shit ending - I feel cheated.

Re: Currently Reading
£1.50 in a charity shop:
First Cole I've read, seen her on some TV stuff. Family east end gangster stuff over many years. Enjoyable enough easy page turner, 400+ pages read in a few nights, but no great shakes. But it's family innit. According to Mr Wiki, voted her favourite book, hmm. A Carlos 6/10.
Quite interested in seeing the Tom Hardy version done for Sky in 2009. Youtube version apparently has the start and end missing, but a full version on putlocker I might watch over the next few days.
As off to hear the 'A is for Arsenic' talk at Barts Pathology lab on 18 November and see the exhibits, sold out now: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-is-for- ... 8020234005 thought best to read some Christie. Ebay £2.00:
1984 edition and still had 'Nigger Island' and the 'Ten Little Niggers' nursery rhyme as opposed to 'Ten Little Indians' or 'Ten Little Soldiers'. 192 pages, read in a sitting last night. Straight into it yarn, did not guess whodunnit and missed obvious clues after reading up after. Like the straightforwardness of characterisation. According to a recent poll, voted her favourite book, hmm. A Carlos 7/10.
Quite interested in seeing the various films and the BBC as part of her 125th anniversary have filmed a star studded version for over Christmas.
Next up, got the collection of Dexter books, liked and disliked the series as per posts, so will start from the beginning and see.

I quite like him, a bit like a Louis Theroux documentary in book form.

Re: Currently Reading
Yeah, they are decent books. 'Them: Adventures with Extremists' is 'The Secret Rulers of the World' C4 series and 'The Men Who Stare at Goats' book is 'Crazy Rulers of the World' C4 series. Both on youtube and amusing watches.
Prefer Theroux on TV though, no one does feigned ignorance like Louis. Also find Ronson's voice a tad whiny.

Never read Copeland before and it's ok (half-way through).

Stoaped reading it at page 107 to 108 when Captain Freytag-Loringhoven said "We looked at the immence, immence steppe towards Asia, and i was overwhelmed".

Just bought a Kindle and have downloaded a few classics. Trying to re read Ulysses, after an aborted attempt 18 years ago.
