Interesting how many people who hated him on 5 now think he is good.
He is good, and in the context of 5 was just another presenter. On TS he is head and shoulders the best. It's because, even if you don't like his style, he has intelligence and wit and he takes a few risks.

I was thinking the same. On 5 he was just allright. But since coming to talksport either he has drastically improved or its like putting a Premier League striker in League 2......Compare him to cvnts like Cundy and Goldstein. he shinesHillman avenger wrote:Interesting how many people who hated him on 5 now think he is good.

It's surprisingly easy to be the best when you're a professional broadcaster on a station which generally employs pissed up lazy ex footballers, wannabe shock jocks and cretinsHillman avenger wrote:Interesting how many people who hated him on 5 now think he is good.

Re: Colin Murray
Well those of you who enjoy him, I'm jealous of you as the 10-1 slot is still not sorted for me.
For me, Murray is still a raft of Rocky-based 'Come on son' laddish cliches where the focus is essentially on him showing us what he knows and how smart he can be with his set ups, preambles, links and come-backs to his guests.
Humour is a personal thing but Paul Hawkesby and Danny Baker, for example, are in a different league in drawing in references to make amusing comments.
When Bob Mills broke out of his shell the other day, he made me laugh out loud twice in a few minutes; Murray has never made me even twitch.
He has to relate his own experiences to every situation; surprise surprise, he's spent time in gay clubs (with a gay friend; he, of course is not gay but has nothing against gays) when news of the Stonewall initiative is reported and they are great clubs and everyone dances first as opposed to straight clubs.........
I just want him to strip away all that stuff he surrounds everything with and run the show and let his guests shine.
Keep it simple, Colin - we know you know a lot of stuff.

I listened to a bit of Vaughan's show on my way home earlier. It's painful, just silly voices and his lackeys telling him how great he is. They've all managed to out-cunt Irani

Murray's show is surprisingly listenable....nice pace to it and good mix of guests
and Johhny Vaughan is the best thing to happen to the station since the days of Baker & Kelly...certainly the funniest........makes you temporarily forget the fact that the station as a whole is a pile of irredeemable steaming shit - as ginger bollocks proves with the show that follows the Warm Up...and Mickey Horsebeater proves with the one that precedes it....

burst out laughing on numerous occasions....not often you can say that about a show on Talkshite...haven't heard Vaughan for a few years but he's reminded me what a funny fucker he can be....the interview with Ian Dowie was a peach...and he even makes that boring cunt Ray Parlour sound..dare I say..vaguely amusing...quite a feat in itself.
Danny Baker 9 till 11 on 5Live then Vaughan from 11 till 1 on Shite...suddenly Saturday radio just got a fuck lot better

The Chair of Truth.
And this has what exactly to do with sport?
Danny Murphy sweats too much......
A good example of Murray's teenager-ish Inbetweeners approach to everyone. A bit like a scorpion that can't resist stinging everything and Andy Goldstein bringing everything back to sex, it's never long before Murray gets personal. Next he'll be telling us whose socks smell.
To much extraneous crap surrounding and intertwined with everything.
Replace him with Brian Moore, Didi H. and Bob Mills.

I was sick off work yesterday. Spent most of the day in bed with TS on. Enjoyed Murray's show. Started feeling dozy during H&J. Couldn't face Durham.

Re: Colin Murray
Depressing feedback just now from former Gunner Perry Groves after watching Under 9's football last weekend - coaches and parents bombarding the kids with instructions creating a pressurised environment strangling free expression and disabling the kids' ability to make decisions for themselves.
Sounds like exactly the reverse of what I am talking about in the website post below.
To Coaches and Parents, I'd say again; LEAVE THEM ALONE. Ultimately, it doesn't matter if they make loads of mistakes. This is how they develop. This is how they learn. They need to have fun and be allowed to play.
If we stop kids from doing this, we are not only strangling their development but slowly but surely we will stamp out the flame of interest which started them playing in the first place.
In junior tennis, despite all its' faults, you aren't allowed to coach players when matches are in progress. Maybe junior football should apply the same rule?
