Leave aside any prejudices you have about the DM and read the story (but not the comments...yet) and see if you can find anything off with the story and (aside form the tragic demise of the poor victim) can you see what is disturbing?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... untry.html

I had to read some of the comments to find out what they are hinting.

Spoiler:
It seems the Daily Mail are terrified upsetting the despicable camel fucking filth in charge of that Dicky Keys ridden shitehole. Its come to this, fearless journalism my hairy white arse.

"Queen Mother' is apparently code for "Qatari Monarchy" and everyone in authority are too scared to say. Cant upset the fucking oil wealth. They can murder British citizens with impunity and it cannot be mentioned..

Reference to a tarmacking specialist with all over chest dangleberries who's recently left his wife and children and is an all round cunt of humongous proportions?

The Sun and the Mirror refer to him insulting the Queen Mother too. So is it the long deceased British one, the Qatari one or is it some Dan Bownesque code for the monarchy? Strange indeed.

None of the papers have the balls to say what they are thinking, it seems.

That's the sort of benign autocracy we don't really get to know about here.

According to wiki, Qatar doesn't even have a Queen Mother.
Qatar is a hereditary monarchy and its head of state is Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The closest thing would be the Sheikh's wifes mother.

If they can't say Qatari Monarchy why bother publishing the story at all. That's usually what newspapers (especially the tabloids) do with inconvenient stories - ignore them.

The bloke must have come across some sinister dodgy dealing and couldn't be allowed to live by those who were at the heart of it.

Similar to the Italian student who was found dead in Egypt earlier this year.

The queen mother bit is unclear I suppose. I see that the Quatari Royal Family contribute to maintain part of her estate, so maybe she's very popular there

Whatever Richard Keys crimes, none could be worse than those he inflicted by sending thousands of drivers to sleep at the wheel
of their vehicle during his time at Talksport. A HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Oh how I miss Andy Gray's infectious laughter.

My first thought was 20ft ain't that high. Obviously high enough to kill you if you jump/are pushed the right way.

Normally if a Westerner insults a Middle East nation, they are arrested and/or booted out of the place.

In this chap's case, he was threatened with death if he actually tried to leave. I think this goes beyond a mere insult.

Clearly there is a lot more to this than the article said.

The mother of the ruler of Qatar is not referred to as the Queen Mother .

So either this is not what he said, or not all of what he said, or he was "taken out" by our people for being disrespectful to the QM. The latter idea is ludicrous. If they wanted to eliminate people disrespectful to our royal family, they's have to start with thousands here, let alone in Qatar.

Some of these ex-pat communities attract some strange people, and then they are "closed" communities not least because of alcohol consumption.
People often go attracted by the money and the chance to separate themselves from personal problems here, but find the lifestyle tedious.
The result can be quite a tense atmosphere.

I have a hunch it was more to do with his job than making an insult.

A colleague of mine was killed when he fell off a Lorry trailer. Not even six feet :(

Indeed, Colin. And I know of someone who was paralysed from the neck down slipping on a step and hitting his spine. But they were accidents.

If I was adamant on topping myself, I'd want to go a bit higher just to make sure, even though I could make a head first or land on back dive. Hence why there seems something queer about it.
