MP's & Expenses (Again!!!)

Post by Steve Hunt »

http://fw.to/25JP7bI

House of Commons authorities have "destroyed" all evidence of MPs expenses' claims prior to 2010.

These people really don't do themselves any favours.
If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

Yes they do. They vote for their own pay-rises, and gold-plate their pensions.
The "subjects" they are supposed to serve they do no favours for.

Did Blair's expenses eventually turn up before they all got burned?

Don't think so, not even the newspaper which spilled the beans could get its hands on those otherwise the exes would have been front page news. Reckon those documents were shredded long before he left office.

I agree. Have UKIP made any comment yet? Farage is usually all over the media like a rash with this sort of stuff.

On second thoughts UKIP's leader promised an independent audit of his expenses (like the ones undertaken by other parties MEPs), as he lied / changed his mind it does put UKIP in a tricky position, no wonder he's keeping his head down in the trough!

Farage has said that what he gets are not 'expenses' but 'allowances', he's also said that a fair proportion of what he gets given, not claims, goes to UKIP, he has said that on his air fares, for example, he only claims for the 30 odd quid he pays on Easyjet, but under Commision rules he get reimbursed over £300 which is what the national carrier charges.

He got Fred Goodwin to file them safely in the shredder.

If there's still a criminal investigation going on surely all these records would/should be impounded as evidence?
If there's not a still a criminal investigation going on then this is of no consequence.

Can't mate.

All the important documents were in Building 7 which completely collapsed under the weight of other sensitive secret documents.

Why is it that we have to keep our tax records for seven years, when MP's are allowed to destroy theirs after only three?
