 If you have never heard Hallelujah in any one of its many versions, then you need to get out more.
I've heard that just nothing else of his which is as memorable.

You're right. How interesting, because many many years ago I knew a particularly smug arse who everyone thought was some kind of fucking genius, but actually ended up as a planning officer in Cardiff, and he used to go on and on and fucking on about Leonard Cohen and his meaningful lyrics, endlessly playing the needle of death at 2am, ( till it somehow went missing) and telling us it was Leonard Cohen. I wasnt interested enough to read the label since I just wanted it to stop, but for all those years I've obviously been confusing those two singers !

Soon as my auld granny used to head to the pub on a Friday my Granda had Frank Sinatra on full blast then when it was shutting time at the pubs Leonard Cohen came on.
And for years this happened before i asked him why?

He said "i am happy when she goes out but very, very unhappy of the the thought of her coming back and Cohen soothes it".
