Things to do in Bath when you are alive.

Post by Petingo »

We have been invited to a wedding in Bath in the fall.

I have never been.

I don't think I have ever spoken to anyone who has been to Bath.

Anyone here ever been?

And if so, what is it like?

All's I know about Bath is that splendid crescent of Georgian houses one often sees in TV programmes featuring Bath.
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Sit in traffic. Always congestion whenever I went anywhere near.

I've got family there Pet, it's a nice city but not very big.

I'd check out the Thermae Bath Spa, the Roman Baths, Alexandra park, Bath Abbey and Royal Crescent (the Georgian houses you mentioned) if I were you.

It's all quite close together so I'd recommend just parking up and walking, the traffic is pretty bad.

This. Traffic has always been shite in my experience.

Nice place, though.
If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

It's full of large marble-lined bathrooms - like your house but less grand, Pet.

Do not follow this advice.

I remember Bath as being really nice but crammed with students and cars, a bit like a smaller Oxford in that regard. Its the sort of place that might be better visited off season.

Fucking tourists and street performers everywhere when I was in that neck of the woods.

Walks along the river or the canal were nice though.

There is a lot of crime now in Bristol, in certain areas.

I'd stay in Bath.

One of my brothers lives in Bath. Nice part of the world. Like the Wiltshire area too, lots of decent local pubs.

I used to be knocking off a lass who worked at Bath Uni. Still does in fact, except she's now massive.

Not much else to report.

It's worth visiting cheddar gorge while you're down that way. I got some nice homebrew cider last time I was there and had a wonder round the caves.

My dads family are from henleaze in Bristol so we'd often have day trips to bath, probably better visiting on a weekday, as like most popular tourists places can be spoilt by shear number of people there.
