Fing is, I don't tend to like sloppy watery based food which is what most of these things seem to turn out like in my view. I'm more of a solid chunk of meat man myself.
That shoulder of pork I cooked was a solid chunk of meat.
Go and get another decent sized one, they're only about 30 quid in tesco, and then buy a specific cook book for slow cookers.
£30???
I have found a major benefit of living in a "Muslim" area, huge hunks of pork are always in the reduced fridge for between £6 and £10 because guess what? No fucker buys them
£0 quid for the slow cooker - not a piece of pork
I wouldn't buy any meat from Tesco anyway - shite.
7 hours at 140 in a tray covered in foil with 1 cup of water, salt, pepper and sprinkled with chilli flakes, heaven...
Ahh got ya, I misread you, indeed you can get a slow cooker in tesco for £12 that works just as well as any ( I've had mine 3 years come Christmas) and as far as tesco meat being "shit" I disagree when it comes to slow cooking, the whole point of slow cooking is to make shit meat edible so no point in paying over the odds for quality
I do my pork as I said in the oven to make " pulled pork", works for me.
That is true, it is a good way of making shit meat more edible, so a brilliant way of cooking if you're on a tight budget.
But in comparison to a butchers the meat in tesco (and sainsburys) is shit.
Everything I buy from the butchers comes out roughly the same size as when it goes in, however the amount of shrinkage you get with bacon, sausages and even chicken is scandalous.
And the meat from the butchers tastes a lot better too.
