Birds

Post by Minisooms »

Currently feeding them dried mealworms they eat a 80g bag a day which costs a pound so a bit pricy over time ,they do love them though . Do you feed the birds ? What do you feed ? Want to keep them fed and happy but get the price down a bit
If you think this has a happy ending you haven't been paying attention

Seems to be mainly starlings and sparrows I'm feeding ,be nice to see a robin or tit for a change .I don't really know much about birds .Will the worms keep them all happy ? Or do I need to provide a different food for others ,need an all round cheapish food ,plus will give worms a few days a week

Is leaving out bread past it's use-by date a big no-no then ?
Plus it attracts mice and rats.

I strew my back garden with the rotting corpses of water-buffalo in the hope to lure Vultures. Tits? Fuck that, I want proper birds that eat red meat, not nut-eating bitches.

Each to their own though. Good luck. :butthead:

We're lucky round where i live if youre into that stuff. We get the usual birds ( & there a robin nesting or something in my hedge at the minute) but theres always the odd jay hanging around, geese, herons and swans overhead in the warm weather and the occasional buzzard.

The wooded lake where I walk my dogs is replete with Woodpeckers, Magpie's, Herons Kestrels and best of all a pair of Buzzards
These I love to see soaring effortlessly or when it pleases them giving a stunning aerobatic display
