Stranger Things

Post by PG30 »

Has anyone else seen the new Netflix show Stranger Things?

I finished it last night, only 8 episodes so easy to burn through

Very enjoyable, 80s style, Stephen King/Stand by Me/Gonnies/X Files ...ish

Despite the subject matter it's quite fun and an easy watch

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4574334/

Set in the 1980s Indiana, a young boy named Will disappears into thin air and the search for him that includes Will's best friend Mike , leads to top secret experiments and a strange little girl in the woods.

I have added that to my list.

I am a sucker for that kind of programme......Wayward Pines was great IMO.
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

I didn't get any of the 80s references because somehow I managed to not see most of the major films of the 80s. But I still found it pretty enjoyable and at 8 episodes not very demanding.

The actress playing 11 is so good, but then she was the best thing about a weird BBC drama called Intruders last year.

To be fair she was absolutely awesome, as was the Sheriff and there are lot of other stars might come from that show. I was watching it mostly for Deadly Premonition, Twin Peaks and Winona. But it was really good.

It's my age...you still have to believe in Winona. My hair has never been right since.
