Georgia pissed on Scotland's chips in the Euros qualifiers last autumn and damaged their hopes for France. Be interesting to see if they do the same to the Irish at the toilet bowl arena. Oh fuck, Houghton's giving his analysis.

Bloody hell. Georgia hit the woodwork twice just now and the ball stayed out. Now if they were da pule, Quinny would have given them a two goal lead.

They won't Lawnsy. Ireland regularly draw Georgia in qualifying and get the job done both home and away - believe they've got 12pts from 12 in recent qualifying. Ireland are basically the non-shite-it version of Scotland. :)

AFC qualifying started up again today and Uzbekistan - so close, as always - lost 0-1 to the mad Mullahs of Iran at home. Still, plenty of time and games to go plus 2 automatic qualifying places up for grabs, but will it be another trip in to the Playoffs followed by a third heart-breaking loss to miss out on the WC. Hopefully not, for the good people of Uzbekistan.

Japan have been struggling - lost 2-1 at home to UAE, toiled to a late 2-0 win in Thailand and today managed to beat Iraq but needed a 95th min winner. Doing what good teams though when going through a bad patch - WINNING. UAE beat Thailand and Saudi Arabia drew 2-2 with Australia in Riyadh - making the group tighter than the so and so's erse - Australia and Saudi are on 7pts with UAE and Japan on 6pts and the bottom two pointless and pretty much.

Top two qualify and the two third placed teams go in to a playoff to eventually play 4th place from CONCACAF for a place in Russia 18.

According to the local press the Azeri players went on a TV buying spree in Belfast spending £12,000 on 8 tellys including three 72" cinema screen TVs. Hope theyre not flying back on Ryanair, the excess weight charge will be 10 times that.

Asian Qualifiers underway in 20 mins with Japan - Saudi Arabia. Japan have struggled a bit, but surely they'll start to pick up. A draw would be an excellent result for the mad Mullah faithful and keep them in with a great chance of qualification.

Later on, Thailand v Australia and UAE - Iraq in Grp B. The Aussies should win and go top - unless KSA win Japan - and Iraq away at 10/3 looks a decent value bet, altough they are bottom they are a decent side and lost to late goals in their matches and by one goal.

Uzbekistan are away to South Korea - a point would be good for the Uzbeks and keep them 2 clear of the Koreans, will Uzbekistan finally qualify after being the Bosnia-Herz of AFC qualifying for the past three campaigns and missing out in the playoffs or on the final day. Qatar are away to China, and Syria are at 'home' to Iran in the other games. Iran lead the group, but a win would certainly put a cat amongst the pigeons for the second qualifying spot.

South American and North American qualifiers tonight. USA who lost 2-1 to Mexico are away to a decent Panama side tonight, and a loss there would be Klinsmann under real pressure.
