Chizzy's first ever world championship quarter-final. Delightful. Klaasen never properly got going but still got down to chances to dig out the win. If Chizzy plays like that v Ando he'll barely win a set. He has no intensity whatsoever.

Michael Smith, when his attitude is on, is capable of all. Been missing for a whole year until now. Said blowing a 3-0 lead to Barney in last year's World QF killed him and still bothers him.

Very nice set. Did his best to fuck up leg 3 but still. Wish he could burn in correct attitude.

Webster v Gurney was extraordinary - never seen such a gruelling match. Tremendous balls from Wade, too, to come back from 3-1 down. And Chizzy won me a few quid by winning 4-2, as did Klaasen with his 140 finish

It's all getting a bit much. Darren Webster is a motherfucking nightmare specimen. I'm not going to say strength in depth again but what a brilliant midget. 3-1 could have been 2-2 and he was 2-0 up in the fifth set too. Pushing MvG into doing all sorts, like Reyes the other night. I always hated DW as a symbol of the throwback old English grinding type without a stage game but he's gone mad lately.

I would love Wright to win it. And Wade, Chizzy, Barney, MvG of course... so anyone but Taylor or Anderson.

I think Snakey has a high level intensity that Wide will not be able to live with over distance tomorrow. Anderson in the semis though... is a different prospect altogether. Wright is playing the darts of his life, that much is true.

Webster got down to a double to win 14 of the 22 legs. His First-9 dart pure scoring power was better than Taylor's tonight. He's keeping some company nowadays. Doubling? Renfrewshire Ladies county B team reserve waiting for Glenda to kick the bucket and miss.

What did you make of the Gurney situation, sub? I'm not a fan of crowd 'participation' at the doubles but it's nothing new and everyone should know what's what by now. Possibly a unique occasion this afternoon where the meltdown 'edsgone person still managed to win.
