What year? Did you stand Trent End? Or Bridgford End? Supposing you at Uni you might have stood on the terraces.Steve Hunt wrote:I once saw Nottingham Forest v Notts County when I was at university (a 0-0 draw) because we were going on the piss in Nottingham for the night.
That's it. Only interested in Spurs. The rest can all fuck off.

It would have been between 1983-1986, ccreds.
Saturday 3.00pm kick off. Where I stood, I have no idea - I was well tanked up before we got there. My mate who was at Trent Poly got us the tickets.
If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

Just thinking some of the players who might have been playing Chiedozie, Metgod, Hodge then went on to play for Tottenham. A few years before my interest started in football though.Steve Hunt wrote:ccreds wrote:What year? Did you stand Trent End? Or Bridgford End? My town (Stratford-upon-Avon) was a big Villa town. Also had its fair share of Blues and Coventry fans.Fug1 wrote:North of M6 is basically Villa, Solihull 50/50 the rest is Blues.Basualdo wrote:Im guessing from the location of the grounds that in Birmingham the northeast and east would be Villa, south to Brum and far north and north west Baggies....relatively speaking.Zambo wrote:I lived in the middle of Villa country so all my neighbours and mates supported them. Albion is West of M5 & Smethwick.
Lived on St Andrews Road for 10 years, used to pop in and watch Blues when the Albion wasn't playing.

Villa takes the North and some west where that joins with West Brom. East and South Blues.Basualdo wrote:Im guessing from the location of the grounds that in Birmingham the northeast and east would be Villa, south to Brum and far north and north west Baggies....relatively speaking.Zambo wrote:I lived in the middle of Villa country so all my neighbours and mates supported them. Many years ago it used to be Chelsea home and if not going to the away game, then I would go to Fulham or Brentford.

When you watched them did you feel neutral or did you find yourself supporting them?Jonathan wrote:Many years ago it used to be Chelsea home and if not going to the away game, then I would go to Fulham or Brentford.

I keep an eye on Napoli. Bullshit aside, if you want a fucking decent / cheap / culturally engaging trip, Naples is fucking super. Fuck Rome. Milan is sort of alright if you like cunts, but Naples is great. Better still, Sicily; fantastic. I've digressed I know...but just sayin'.

When I lived in Nottm (90s - early2k) went to County way more than Forest, mostly with friends who were away fans, but got to know some County fans and went to more home games and some away and pre-season friendlies, a pissed up bus trip to Alfreton most memorable.ccreds wrote:Just thinking some of the players who might have been playing Chiedozie, Metgod, Hodge then went on to play for Tottenham. Saw some of the Fat Sam era and as per also, a dishevelled looking Howard Kendall and Russell Slade coming into the 24 hr snooker club on Heathcote Street, opposite Mushroom Bookshop and Ice Nine looking for late night ales. Good times, fun times.
Only Forest game was a 0-0 v Leeds as per with a mate Leeds fan. We went in to the home terrace, would be Trent End, wemt to the fence and mate told stewards we were Leeds (both southern accents) and they let us through to the Leeds end. Good atmosphere, piss poor game.
Went to Trent Bridge way more than both though, afternoon ales in the sun watching the cricket after work.

Used to go to a lot of York City games in the mid-90s when at university. Still follow them to a small degree.
