In the best form of his career

Post by delboy1983 »

Andy Murray closing in on no1 in the world wins his 6th title of the season which includes Wimbeledon.
Too much to do to clinch it this season but the smart money is on him to achieve no 1 at the beginning
of next season.
Surely no argument that this one off if not the best sportsman produced by this country.

I thought this thread was going to be about Walcott. If he stays injury free this could be arsenals year for the title .

It's a good question though - the best sportsman we've ever produced. I don't think it's Murray, though he is probably in the top five. I'd be inclined towards Mo Farah, even though he wasn't born here, Lennox Lewis, even though he wasn't raised here, or, yeah, actually I suppose Andy Murray.

Well, you've made 26,000, Del, and Bas did say "some". Stopped clocks and all that. ;)

Anyway, impossible to compare eras, but he hasn't won as many slams as other Brits, and yes some in the days of Champion automatically reaching the final.

Wee Rory has won more Majors than Murray has slams, not that I'd ever say the he is the greatest err British/UK sportsman, the curly mopped cunt.

Ugliest (in the aesthetic sense) male professional sportsman of his generation. I'll concede that achievement.
Fred Kite: I've got to be off. I can't stay here arguing. I've got a lot to do. Report to the Executive, check up on the pickets.
Mrs. Kite: From what I can see, the only time you ever jolly well *do* any work is when you're on strike.

Gordon Strachan wants him for the national football team because he'd fit in being used to smashing balls over a net.

Del can celebrate as his idol Murray makes another final.
