I'm pleased Derby have appointed this geezer. I thought they may come for Gary Rowett, as he played for them.

Clement is looking forward to working at a "massive club".
Won't be at Derby very long then.

Ccreds, keep your shitty cartoons about tricky trees out of this thread this season please. Finch-o, maybe you best start a League 1 thread.

Its Forest's 150th anniversary this year. Lets have a look at the acheivements or firsts of the club.
First team to wear red
Forest were the first English team to beat Scottish team.
First ground where a whistle was used
First wearer of shinpads was a member of the Forest team
First English club to tour South America
Bought the first million pound player
First British club to win consecutive European Cups playing finals outside the UK
First use of goal nets.

First team to use crossbars.
First team to have a Black player play for England.
Also first use of oval goal posts instead of square.

Pretty sure they're the only club to win the European Cup more times than their own domestic league too, CC .
Have got a feeling next years Championship really is going to be a belter . Looking at the strength of it , it's impossible to predict who's going up , down or anything in between .
Will keep my fingers crossed the Wolves will do well
Barman : "What will it be , Sir ?"
Customer : "I'll have a pint of remoaner tears please"

Aren't they also the only team to have won the European Cup but are not currently playing top flight football in their country ?

Nottingham Forest have been given another winding up order. Now this isn't any new news has we have had these twice before under Fawaz. Its obviously because we aren't paying our bills on time. We are not putting ourselves in a good light at all.

Re: The Championship 2015/6
Nottingham Forest escaped being wound up in the High Court today after settling a tax bill.
A year ago a petition to wind them up by Le Bistro, a subsidiary of stadium caterers Elior, was dismissed after they settled a £200,000 bill
But it was announced then that the Reds were also being chased by the Inland Revenue over an unpaid £1.8m tax bill.
Today Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs counsel Caroline Addy told Registrar Nicholas Briggs that "the debt and costs had been paid in full."

For our 150 year anniversary we have got Aston Villa and Swansea City both on trentside. You know Notts County they got a game with Juventus at there new stadium for their 150 years anniversary in 2012. Can't grumble really as Aston Villa and Swansea City are 2 brilliant clubs .

Re: The Championship 2015/6
The reason why Juventus played Notts was because of the links of the kits.
Also here is a mini fact: From wiki::
A.C. Milan was founded as Milan Cricket and Foot-Ball Club on 13 December 1899 by English expatriates Alfred Edwards and Herbert Kilpin,[4] who came from the English city of Nottingham. In honour of its English origins, the club has retained the English spelling of the city's name, as opposed to the Italian spelling Milano which it was forced to bear under the fascist regime. Milan won its first Italian championship in 1901 and a further two in succession in 1906 and 1907.[2]
If you look at AC Milan's kit its a mix of County and Forest.

Derby and Middlesbrough for the two automatic places.
QPR, Reading, and Fulham, to be relegated.

Chris Wood signed. £2.5m. Good business for us.
About time Leeds made a go of it.

Happy with that fee. Wood is a limited player, an excellent finisher so he needs the right service. For a tall man he has little aerial presence but give him a chance and he should put it away.Zippy wrote:Chris Wood signed. £2.5m. Good business for us.

He was always down the pecking order with us. He doesn't dictate games like Vardy, or have the link-up play of Nugent, Ulloa is a better version of Wood. The Championship is probably his level.

Re: The Championship 2015/6
For the Championship he's exactly what we need by all accounts. Leeds have a lot of good midfielders but hardly any strikers. Hopefully he'll know where the net is next season.JW90 wrote:Happy with that fee. Wood is a limited player, an excellent finisher so he needs the right service.
