So, Who's the First in 2017?

Post by ollie »

Hope the forum will take this post in whichever way it chooses: ironic, ludicrous, pathetic, moronic, even perverted, but after the year we've just had, one does wonder 'who will be next' in 2017? George Micheal once appeared on stage with a 'Choose Life' t-shirt - good mantra - but this particular mantra during his life got thwarted into 'Death Becomes Us'.

I remember someone once saying to me when I was a youngster, 'St Paul said, 'I die daily!' Now that mantra has stuck with me ever since. Looking back on 2016, I respect every single 'personality' that has died this year but then around 15,000 - 30,000 Syrians have also died this year!

So to lighten things up for the start of 2017, who will 'kick the bucket' this year?

Here's my Top Ten:

Prince Phillip
Kirk Douglas
George Bush Sr.
Vera Lynn
The Queen
Bruce Forsyth
Roger Moore
Jerry Lewis
Keith Richard
Ken Dodd

Please add to, comment, deride, whatever . . . I should point out that this post in no way reflects my state of mind - I just thought it would be a 'fun' way to start the new year.

Theres still nearly 13 hours to go, for fucks sake!

An asteroid could hit the Ivy or the Groucho club or something and wipe out practically the entire market for cocaine in the Home Counties in one fell swoop.

The Great Celebrity Christmas Cull of 16 isnt over yet.

You can't help but wonder at the mindset of someone doing this, after all, what does it achieve.

I have greatest respect for Rugby Union, they started it mid-way through the 19th century. Thankfully we grabbed it and turned it into a spectacle on 29th August 1895
