Remittances mean the amount of money they send home - why is that important?
If you look at your average dole scrounger they are paid and piss their money up against the wall, while good honest immigrants are paying taxes (a lot aren't). However, the great thing about dole scroungers is that they do piss their money against the wall.
They go to Sainsburys and buy a 4 pack Strongbow, so they are paying Duty and VAT back to the government, They are also giving Sainsburys a profit on which they pay corporation tax. Sainsburys employ people who pay Income tax and National insurance. The company who delivered that Strongbow to Sainsburys pay tax, they also employ drivers who pay tax and NI. The same goes for Bulmers who make it, the farmers they buy the apples from etc etc. All of these people involved in the chain will go out and buy stuff and the cycle starts again.
Most of a dole scroungers benefits will find their way back to the Government in one way or another - so they are of very little real cost.
However, it is said that Migrants pay £20Billion in taxes and nothing else is considered. They never take account of the estimated £16 Billion a year they send home, that is £16 Billion that leaves our economy forever - no one here benefits from that money. They also never mention the fact that most of these migrants are young and will have children of school age who we need to educate at a cost of £4,500 per pupil per year. Nor is the extra burden on the NHS included in these calulations. None of these are included in the simple
TAX - BENEFITS = IMMIGRATION IS GOOD.
I suspect that the benefits of immigration are a lot less that they are trying to tell us they are.
