New Zealand earthquake

Post by theleader82 »

New Zealand was rocked yesterday by a 7.8 factor earthquake near Christchurch , and there was also a tsunami. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-37970775
It must be worrying if you live on the South Island, house insurance must be expensive . There seem to have been a few big earthquakes this year, with what happened in Italy. God must be angry. I can imagine there being a big one in California again soon.

Two cows and a calf were left stranded on an island created by a landslide.

Not exactly a whole flock of sheep and herd of cows who were stranded though to be fair.
Please don't hoover up all the bollocks for yourself. Leave some for others.

There hadn't been a serious earthquake since the 1931 tragedy in Napier when I was there in 2001, but they were still running information videos on TV about what to do in the event of an earthquake. (Hide under a table, I seem to recall, was the advice)

The reason the architecture in Napier is so amazing is because all the buildings in the central part of the city were rebuilt collectively in an art deco style after the 1931 earthquake.
Come for the rampant misogyny, stay for the tedious bitching
