They have declared a 30 day mourning period

And during this period only the government TV stations will be allowed to broadcast
It's mourning for 365 days isn't it?
I have got to the bottom of it now, Doug.

It is a 30 day mourning period in which all government buildings will fly the flag at half mast.

And all government employees must wear black to work for 365 days.....
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Apparently the successor is in talks with the army to see if they approve.
This is one of the features of Thailand. You can have democracy, or any other form of government you wish, as long as the army think it's OK.
if they get unhappy they simply step in and put it back to where they want it.
Listen to Talksport and let it be a lesson to you

Well that's been the case since Ancient Rome really. I regret to say that I wonder whether we might not have been better to have maintained some similar emergency brake.
A strong statement , and one which is very at odds with my general opinions, but it is very apparent that we've allowed the lunatics to take charge of the asylum and that the current set up is continuing to tear appart everything which is essential for the survival of a positive and good society, and that the inevitable result will be total self annihilation .
The founding fathers of the USA made it clear that such freedoms could only be beneficial in an intelligent, well educated and decent population, but I must say that when the ignorant, stupid and immoral are encouraged to dominate society , then these very freedoms become a weapon against it rather than a tool to build it higher, stronger and better.
Perhaps we have now developed our own vicious peasant class which makes a true liberal democracy impossible, and demoted ourselves from the group of advanced Western countries which could afford the luxury of such a system.

That is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know".
