Jeremy Corbyn has insisted he did not promise to write off all student debt while appealing to young voters during the general election.
During the campaign, the Labour leader said he would "deal with" the issue of graduates burdened with debt since tuition fees rose to £9,000.
He told the BBC he had never promised to abolish all debt as Labour "were unaware of the size of it at the time".

Yet, only on 9th July:

Labour 'aim' to wipe £100bn student debt - Angela Rayner

I don't understand the fixation about Corbyn *possibly* nailing Abbott. Does it really matter? When May became PM, was she subjected to smutty innuendo and jibes about who she may or may not have fucked? Ridiculous.

It seems that Corbyn agrees that wholesale EU migration makes conditions worse for British workers. On the Andrew Marr programme, he said the following about leaving the EU "What there wouldn't be is the wholesale importation of underpaid workers from central Europe in order to destroy conditions, particularly in the construction industry." Link to New Statemsan article:

http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/st ... ns-british

I wonder if all his younger admirers realise that this is how he feels about the EU?

It seems that Corbyn can say what he likes whether it's about student debt or immigration or anything else. He seems to have sections of the public under his spell.
Don't always believe what you think, because sometimes its' a load of shite

I think it's the nature of cult leadership. If he said "Let's drink the Kool Aid and have a nice long sleep" they would do it.

That presumably makes him "a bigot" in Gordon Brown's eyes.
It's amazing, isn't it? Anyone who even dares to mention the word "immigration" is pilloried as a foaming Nazi by the leaders of the Labour party ...... right up until the Tories are in charge and Labour realise that immigration might be a vote-winner.

Right up until the Tories are in charge & increase net immigration after promising to massively reduce it. Still get some dumb fuckers defending them though.

Do you not think that immigration played a large part in the Brexit vote?

I do. Sovereignty was my main issue, but I suspect that a lot of people, especially in working class areas, voted in the hope that we would regain control of our borders.

Labour have merely tapped into this sentiment, as have the Tories (who talk tough, but do fuck all - presumably to keep their big business supporters on board)

Labour will promise virtually anything to win votes now. As you say, they think the public will forget being called bigoted, just for mentioning immigration.

Making manifesto commitments to massively reduce immigration to win votes and then doing the opposite is a bad thing.

Yup, just as bad as this:

Key ally of Jeremy Corbyn caught on video making pledge to wipe off student debts
Jeremy Corbyn was hit by a growing tuition fees crisis today after it emerged that one of his shadow ministers promised before the election that “every existing student will have all their debts wiped off” if Labour gained power.
The Labour leader has been accused of backtracking on scrapping the existing debt of students run up due to tuition fees of up to £9,000-a-year.
Mr Corbyn insists he did not make a promise to axe this debt which is estimated to total more than £100 billion and scrapping it would blow a huge hole in Labour’s financial plans.
However, now an election campaign video has emerged of shadow justice minister Imran Hussain make a firm pledge on student debt.
He said: “Just this morning Jeremy Corbyn has announced that the tuition fees will be abolished straight away from September if there’s a Labour government, and that we will bring back immediately EMA and also that every existing student will have all their debts wiped off.”

Shadow Minister for Public Health Sharon Hodgson also tweeted on June 2: “Jeremy Corbyn: Labour could write off historic student debts| All those in early 20’s with student debt #VoteLabour”

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... lY-8LJnMdg

Maybe, but when a shadow minister says "every existing student will have all their debts wiped off", what are the public, especially students, supposed to think?
