But people on here did.
They claimed it was an outrage.
Even though it was clear at the previous general election.

Good ol' Jeremy. Hope he hangs around for a bit longer with Chilcott looming.
So the Laybur plan is to usher Corbyn out due to being 'unelectable' and bring in Angela Eagle?

I like Corbyn hanging around as it shows the Blairites for the back-stabbing self-serving Judas's that they are.

As much as I despise them, the Tories were elected on a back of a manifesto.
The public can boot them out in any 5 year period.
Neither of the above applies to the EU Commission

If so, her credibility should be zero after Chilcott reports next week. Mind you, given that I suspect it will be a whitewash, I may well be wrong.

I'd imagine that whoever wins the Tory leadership (probably May ) will call an election pretty soon afterwards. With Labour in such chaos, it would be mad not to.Hillman avenger wrote:Can I point out to anyone still insisting the EU is a cesspit of "no democracy"..

As an aside, my Daughter is studying the Cold War in GCSE history. She is revising for end of year exams and earlier this week asked me to test her on the subject, based on the revision notes she has made.
It is amazing, but the roles of Thatcher, Gorbachev & Reagan in bringing about it's end are completely written out.
According to modern day teaching, the Cold War ended due to the crippling cost of USSR's occupation of Afghanistan and Solidarnosk uprising in Poland.
I have emailed her history teacher yesterday asking why the key roles Gorbachev, Thatcher & Reagan have been overlooked. I have not had a reply yet.

Re: Corbyn
Having the public elect ministers is just plain daft, but let it be on the PMs head if he fucks up like he has with Hunt. If Cameron hadn't have resigned, he would have definitely led the Tories to an election defeat largely on that fact.Hillman avenger wrote:600 odd of them are elected to be MPs for their constituency.Zambo wrote:One small point on that Hillman, the ministers are MPs elected by the people.Hillman avenger wrote:Can I point out to anyone still insisting the EU is a cesspit of "no democracy"..

Re: Corbyn
Unlikely Steve. Since last month when there were leaks about Blair about to be heavily criticised in it, he's reportedly been consulting his lawyers and advisors to launch a robust defence on it's publication. The report's going to be quite damning about the government, Whitehall and key individuals like Blair. Interestingly enough though, Alistair Campbell's going to escape censure. Make of that what you will.Steve Hunt wrote:You are assuming that Chilcott won't be a whitewash then, Shabs?shabbado wrote: Once Chillcot is out then she and others of her ilk who voted for the Iraq war should, In a political sense, be finished.

I actually feel a bit sorry for Corbyn.
He's a decent man, albeit misguided. He doesn't deserve to be treated like this, especially by his own colleagues.
As for Cameron telling him to go, what the fuck has it got to do with him? Nothing at all. He should butt out.
