Russia is officially in the region: a new order has just begun
Since the outbreak of the Syrian uprising, Russia has limited itself to its traditional role of providing arms as well as military and logistical experts to its Arab allies.
As Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime weakened, the Russians intensified their military support dramatically.
Recently, the Russian “Caesar” opted to expand his role in Syria to include direct intervention against enemies of the regime. The move towards direct intervention constitutes a revolution in Russia's role in the Middle East and portends a deeper shift in the region.

The USA has ruled out its ground troops going into Syria.
That's Turkey and Saudi Arabia left out in the cold.

It's amazing how many people are siding with the Russian point of view these days compared to what we're being fed by our own media sources. They're not all tinfoil hatters either. It's like as though they sense we're not being told the truth but a pile of political propaganda instead
It might help if every country we've involve ourselves in didn't end up as a complete basket case and the fact everyone didn't know it's all about oil and resources. But never mind these people know what they're doing.

Isn't it amazing how fast it all seems to have collapsed once Putin decided to stop their fuel supplies from Turkey. Two fucking years of NATO piss arsing about has been shown up for what it was.

There can be no let-up as far as the Russians are concerned. When (its not if) Turkey invade Russia then the Putin will take the fight deep into Turkeym4rkb wrote:Isn't it amazing how fast it all seems to have collapsed once Putin decided to stop their fuel supplies from Turkey. I hope they are and it reflects itself with them being blocked from entering the EU. Better still I hope we leave so it doesn't even matter.

Well it's better than expected for a post 97 UK ambassador. Maybe Tony Blair didn't quite impose the right choice of ambassador over previous incumbents of the job who were renowned for knowing their territory inside out and developing relationships in these types of countries which endeared these places to the British for their sense of fair play and decency. The Tick wrote:http://rinf.com/alt-news/latest-news/fo ... n-corrupt/?

Of course all of that quickly went rapidly down hill after 1997 when they were mostly replaced with political junkies affiliated to Blair's version of the Labour party as a kind of thank you for services rendered and the removal of the 'old guard', not to mention our complete capitulation to all things American - particularly foreign policy.
But otherwise a rare moment of insight from someone who went on to see the light.

Britain has not been known for its fairness.
We are referred to as the 'perfidious albion' for our inconsistency and double dealing on the international stage.
Supporting the old Mujahadeen in Afghanistan pre 1997 was also a big blunder.

There have been many blunders but the general sense of British individuality and fairness was totally lost post 97 all for one man and his wife's vanity and lust for wealth. Modern mistakes are not mistakes they are capitulation to other whims. Thatcher told Bush what to do not the other way round. Reagan found her a tower of strength. A far cry from Blair's relationship with the yanks. The Tick wrote:Britain has not been known for its fairness.

That's stretching it quite a bit. Thatcher's influence was overstated.m4rkb wrote:There have been many blunders but the general sense of British individuality and fairness was totally lost post 97 all for one man and his wife's vanity and lust for wealth.
