Theresa May

Post by Steve Hunt »

Another day, another disaster.

- The shambolic "non" vote in the Commons last night over European Arrest Warrant.
- Today she is expected to face criticism over the publication of an independent review of the handling of the
1980s Dickens dossier of allegations of child abuse.

This is of course, just a normal day for May, who seems to stumble from disaster to another on a daily basis.

What does she have to do to lose her job?
She has to be the most hopeless Home Secretary in living memory.

Why does Cameron constantly stick by her? He's not doing himself any favours by doing so. She's either giving him a great blow job before every cabinet meeting or she has something on him.

I genuinely cannot think of any other reason for her keeping her job :?
If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

The Home Office has been a disaster for fifteen years or more, goodness knows what sort of people we have as civil servants running the organisation. How many Home Secretaries did Labour have? Six in thirteen years, you get the feeling the department is a law unto itself and resents interference from ministers.

May has made some errors that is true but she inherited the most dysfunctional department in the government and some of the errors have been down to bad advice she has received from people paid to give her good advice. She has made major positive changes at the Home Office which remain largely unheralded.

Last night's debacle is probably not May's fault, some are saying it was procedurally correct not to vote on the EAW in the motion. If on the other hand it could have been included in the motion and the government has excluded it or it could have been voted on separately then someone has seriously misjudged the views of thirty or forty Conservative backbenchers.

Personally I think Gove has a big hand in this, and given there is no love lost between them I imagine Gove has been grinning all morning

Do I detect the hand of Gove? It might be down to the Whip rather than May and given there is no love lost between the two it wouldn't surprise me!

The Wanless Report is out - the most interesting snippet is that many of the missing / destroyed files were last viewed in this century i.e. when Labour were in power

Kind of pisses on Danczuk's parade.

Danczuk bleating on Sky News claiming Wanless Report is a whitewash. So because Danczuk hasn't got the result he wants he now sees Peter Wanless the CE of the NSPCC is part of an establishment cover-up?

His Labour councillor wife has nice tits though

Great stems on that Tory cougar. Regardless of her position, for me she is one of the few female politicians with any gravitas and intelligence. Put it another way, if it was a choice between her leading the Cuntservatives or Gideon Osbourne, I'd prefer her.

Her remit was to appoint someone to lead the child abuse inquiry who could deliver a whitewash verdict that threw a couple of dead people under the bus but didn't implicate anyone currently still alive or in government. She hasn't done a very good job.

She's not perfect I get that. But compared to someone like Harriet Harman...geezus, come on, be reasonable. She was educated at a state primary school, convent girls' school and a state comprehensive and went on to Oxford. I think she's decent. Plus she's not an Eton cunt.

Carc, she's absolutely bloody hopeless.

She stumbles from catastrophe to another, on an almost daily basis. She's permanently in the HoC apologising for yet another fuck up.

Do you not listen to/read the news?

No more fuck ups that Jacqui Smith did in her time, but Jacqui was a lot more shaggable in those black stockings.
