Why did you recently say that something would make you happy because it'd result in 20 years of labour government ?
That "remark" is a famous quotation Hillman. I'd assumed you'd have known it.
It is meant to explain that democracy without certain guarantees for minorities who may be unpopular but aren't actually doing anything wrong, wouldn't work.
Before you introduce democracy , you must make a permanent rule to guarantee free speech and privacy for example, otherwise clever crooks will be able to convince a majority of the stupid to hand them absolute power. Similarly, they may vote to persecute Jewish people if they have the gullible natures which we so often see exhibited in this place !
