Fiona Woolf to lead child abuse inquiry

Post by Ralph »

Never heard of her so can't really give a view as to whether she's the right choice.

Me too, Ralph,

Haven't got a scooby who she is.
If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

Unless there's some major problem that we don't know about they should just get on with it. People complaining that she's from a banking background - Difficult to pick someone with relevant knowledge that wouldn't have a conflict of interest.

She a tax lawyer, analytical mind and all that, the important thing is that so far, the Beeb haven't found any link she may have to anyone who may have been connected to the events at the time.

I have been saying this for years. Only in her job because of her sex & the lack of other females in cabinet.

It will be Leon Britten in drag. Utter disgrace and shambles of an inquiry. The stuttering, the delays, the non- explanations, the lethargy.

I hope the inquiry interviews Barry Sheerman MP the Labour MP for Huddersfield who chaired the Children, Schools and Families Committee between 2007 and 2010. He has admitted that MPs knew about abuse "up and down the country" and said he felt guilty about the Rotherham scandal. "We knew about that, we didn't do enough about it. Members of this house, many of us, knew what was going on"

What's your point, HJ?

According to some on here the British Justice System works just fine as it is.

Bad enough for her to need to stand down? By the time this enquiry gets started the people they're investigating will either be dead or too ill to attend.

Yup.

Call me a cynic, but I think this could well be the plan.

I thought the whole reason they appointed someone from a banking/legal background rather than someone with relevant expertise was so there was no chance of her having a connection to the people she'd be investigating. Didn't work did it!

There were/are paedophiles in all the political parties. Just have a look through the articles on http://www.exaronews.com

Why bother trying to score party political points?
