They sound just as bonkers as socialists to me actually .
From the other end of the spectrum ideologically, but no more extreme than the likes of UAF, but the supporters of that outfit, which includes prominent MPs & 'celebs', and no doubt also include some bbc researchers, do not get the same condemnation.

Or read the news. I'd heard of Britain First & I'm not a political insider. She's a producer on Question Time. Knowing who's who in the world of politics is her job.
It's not a matter of knowing who they are, it's very easy to like a post a friend has liked without looking at where it originated, that's how they work, make a meme stating the bloody obvious and collect those likes from the unsuspecting, I often comment with a lol on ultra left friends who fall for it time and time again.

Question Time said she didn't understand 'the wider context' of Britain First & that's why she shared the post.

She also used her facebook account to encourage EDL members to join the Question Time audience.

Is getting suckered into sharing a Britain first poppy post classed as "promoting right wing groups" or is it just being gullible?

From the safety of my living room. High risk it'd kick off isn't there. If Question Time want to outflank The Jeremy Kyle Show this is the way to do it. :)

The most generous explanation is that she was promoting them unwittingly, isn't it?

Can't help noticing you're shifting the ground & not answering my question Roy.

I don't think anyone should promote groups who use violence as a tactic. So if that's what they're doing consider it condemned.

What do you think about this BBC producer. Bit odd isn't it?

IF the bbc employee is promoting an extremist group he or she should be dealt with accordingly. It goes without saying.
My argument is against the usual dual standards, - I maintain that britain first is no more extrem than the UAF, yet the latter is supported by many mainstream 'names', and they are not attacked for their support.

The most generous explanation is she's a typical just out of a media degree graduate that has connected parents who got her the job trying to be "edgy" and making a name for herself, but I can't be bothered to check :-)

She's not a celeb or an MP she's a BBC producer on Question Time. She should be studiously impartial.

She shouldn't be backing/promoting/endorsing any political party, let alone violent ones that could be proscribed as terrorist organisations.

She also shouldn't be sending Facebook invitations to far right groups to join the Question Time audience.

It's a slightly worrying pattern of behaviour for someone who's supposed to be completely impartial? The dismissive response from the BBC is also worrying.

To be fair she shared the proud to wear a poppy and we support our troops posts, hardly extremist and I doubt many would
not agree with the sentiment which is why they post them.

Britain First everybody...

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho ... 21201.html

Using Lee Rigby to promote themselves after they've been asked to stop by his family.

Why nobody should share their Facebook memes, let alone staff on BBC political programmes.

It's Britain First that's the problem not the poppy or expressing support for our troops.

If she'd posted something from the British Legion there wouldn't be a problem.

That's a distinction without a difference isn't it. And they stand candidates in elections so...

The British Legion have asked Britain First to stop using the poppy to promote themselves, yet they still do it.
