Good post - thanks.

That's my next read sorted then. Didn't realise there was a new one out.
My mum bought this for my birthday. Which was nicely unexpected.
I might have done one - not sure but possible.

Chernobyl 01:23:40: The Incredible True Story of the World's Worst Nuclear Disaster

Just got into it. Liking it so far, but I do love a bit of disaster non-fic-lit with some science I can get my head around. Nicely written so far ...

The Last Jew of Treblinka. It's not exactly getting me in the Christmas spirit to be honest. But then again it is, because it makes be realise how fortunate I am.

Got some excellent books over Christmas, plus the Phil Collins one :)

The New Men looks very interesting about early 1900s immigrants working in USA, and going to work for the Ford Motor Company.

Mrs S gave me three books for Christmas - Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run, Jeremy Paxman - A Life In Questions and Kenneth Clarke's Kind of Blue. Can't make up my mind which one to start with.

Take Clarkes, then the Springsteen one then Paxo's and set fire to them and read the Flashman books instead.

It is, isn't it.

The quote about Steve Backshall inhabiting "that difficult no mans land between Terry Nutkins and Bear Grylls" was one of my favourites.

Sad about Michael though....or is it?

I'm only 50 pages in...

Animal farm. I didn't read a great deal as a youngster, so I've got all the classics to catch up on. I feel a bit silly when people talk about books and I'm not very well read.

There is an Alan Partridge fan podcast called Monkey Tennis, which is okay if a bit up itself (a bit like Partridge).
They base a podcast on each episode.
They released their latest podcast, a live show two parter about the Alpha Papa film, the other day.
The best bit was that they invited Sue Cook to take part but she said no and they read out her genuine letter apologising for being unable to attend as she said she had work commitments as "I'm a lot busier than I was back in Tony Hayer's days at the BBC" and she asked if they had 'tried asking Bill Oddie instead". 8)
