Xmas Day TV

Post by carcinogen »

Options? Now, I've got my fat on again off again gf staying over. Plus my dear old Mum. Dani (the fat gf) is lovely, and she'll watch whatever the fuck is on. I think there's a bake-off bullshit show on in the afternoon. And of course we must watch Maj giving her Xmas message to the nation. I've illegally downloaded 'Elf' to watch in the evening. What's you cunts watching on Xmas day? Or are you being classy and spending most of your day at church singing carols? I hope you are, because the fucking TV schedule is shit; I surely cannot be the only person who thinks a 40 year old episode of Morecambe & Wise is good entertainment. I find the pair dire and unfunny.
Fred Kite: I've got to be off. I can't stay here arguing. I've got a lot to do. Report to the Executive, check up on the pickets.
Mrs. Kite: From what I can see, the only time you ever jolly well *do* any work is when you're on strike.

Why did you 'illegally' download 'Elf'?
Its been out so long you can buy a DVD of it for 50p in the bargain bin of your nearest garage.

Or buy half a can of Polish spesh, which would provide far more enjoyment than that appalling film.

Going on the Bear Hunt is the best they've got.
The utter drivel that will be the Christmas No.1
The Queen robotically reciting what some government stooge has written down for her (WITH THE 3 SECOND PAUSES BETWEEN EVERY SENTENCE) .
Being patronised by a politically correct Doctor Who.
And Mrs. Brown CAN FUCK OFF .

Porn all the way.

Bought her indoors some vibrating anal beads for crimbo and some gussetless skimpy pants for myself (red obviously) to match my arse grapes.

She's so lucky.

Christmas tv on BBC and ITV is absolutely dreadful. Utterly dreadful

The days when they'd have very good movies which would grip you have gone. Long gone!

The haven't had the big movie draw since the early 80s if not before. Video ended that with everyone having seen the big movies before the got shown on TV.

TBH they all sorta blends into one after a while. Go Jetters, Octonauts and Bing Bunny are also high on their favourites list.

Don't get the appeal myself.

Nah...I disagree. I remember of christmas 1991 and the BBC had brilliant movies on - No Way Out on christmas eve

phpBB [video]

On Christmas Day they had Batman at 6pm..one with Jack Nicholson as Joker. 9:30pm they had Coming to America
Plus they had Fish caled Wanda, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Great Outdoors.

I remember on Sky watching Pretty Woman, The Witches, Nuns on the Run, Uncle Buck and Class of 1999.

On Sky One every saturday at 8pm during the month i was back at home id watch "Unsolved Mysteries hosted by Robert Stack!

Those were the days!

Peppa is the only one I can watch, it has some genuinely good gags in it.

Yes that true, but they were still trying back then, and even by then the audiences would not have been near what they were a decade or so previously. And because of the law of diminishing returns they don't really bother trying with movies nowadays.
Now with movie channels on satellite and streaming online the attraction isn't there.

Bernard and the Genie is on Youtube. It has only been shown once on TV in the early 90's. Watched it last year, pretty funny even though it stars everybody's hate figure Lenny Henry.

I find Lenny Henry totally unfunny, like most people do, and also a bit pretentious these days.

But for some reason I've never actually disliked him, because he doesn't seem to be loathesome person, unlike most comedians.

He's not great but I don't dislike him. As a kid I found a black man pretending to be David Bellamy pretty funny.
