Cheeky Blighters

Post by delboy1983 »

A wedding guest was left "utterly gobsmacked" when the bride and groom emailed her to say her £100 gift was not generous enough.

A post on Mumsnet, which has gathered over 1,000 replies, claims the newlyweds emailed the anonymous guest, who is a former colleague of the bride, to suggest she "adjust" her cheque.

"We were surprised that your contribution didn't seem to match the warmth of your good wishes on our big day," the email allegedly said.

"In view of your own position, if you wanted to send any adjustment it would be thankfully received."

The stunned guest asked people for advice on how to respond to the request.

"Please, anyone, what do I do now? I've never come across anything like this before and still can't quite believe they've done it - but since they have, should I reply, ring them, ignore it or what?"

The guest later revealed that she replied to the bride with the message: "I assume this was some sort of mistake?"

She is apparently yet to receive a reply.
