Malvern Hills
Anyone been here before? Thinking about visiting for a weekend, maybe stop in Worcester on the way. Heard it's a nice part of the world.

Re: Malvern Hills
You'll like it there, it's like a town from the 50's and they've never heard of immigration, I worked there a few years back and stayed in a large hotel on the high street, everyone was extremely friendly and knew each other by name.
After an evening in the bar we asked if there was a club or late pub to carry on drinking and for a taxi number, apparently there's only a few taxis and they don't work on a Wednesday so the landlord let his 19 year old barmaid off early to give us a lift to a late bar.
4 hairy arsed workmen then squeezed into a tiny Saxo with the Young belle and she proceeded to fire that little car down the narrow streets like an episode from the Sweeney.
I was in the front and nervously asked how long she's been driving and in a strange almost Bristol accent she replied " I've been driving 8 weeks and I've only crashed once and killed one cat"
PS the Hills very big and there's fuck all at the top.

As long as it's good, hard working Brits boys on their four tea breaks an hour, it's all good. Don't want Pakistaaarni taxi drivers at it with their disproportionately sized "cocks" init?

Agreed.
Nor any of those distasteful coloured chaps.
I think you'll be safe from those in the Mavern area though tbf.

This was actually a good post. What with the rebirth of Zammers there's hope for this board yet.warmleatherette wrote:You'll like it there, it's like a town from the 50's and they've never heard of immigration, I worked there a few years back and stayed in a large hotel on the high street, everyone was extremely friendly and knew each other by name.

Yes. It's very flat where I live. I like a bit of a challenge. I'd like to start to doing trail running, it gets boring running on Tarmac around town.kancutlawns wrote:Do you like hills, leader?

Try the Chilterns and Thames Valley. Beautiful, underrated part of the world.theleader82 wrote:Yes. It's very flat where I live. I like a bit of a challenge. I'd like to start to doing trail running, it gets boring running on Tarmac around town.kancutlawns wrote:Do you like hills, leader?

It's not too bad to be fair Leader .
Not a million miles away from me in Worcestershire and it's ideal for a short break and life has a somewhat gentler pace to the normal rat race if that's what you're looking for . The views from the hills are quite stunning and it's mainly unspoiled by modern day mayhem .
Spent many blurry afternoons at the rugby club after a game (again , nothing to do with G-April ) .
There are many worse ways to spend a weekend and should you decide to drop in to Worcester , it's a beautiful city . A stunning cathedral and the prettiest county cricket ground there is

Re: Malvern Hills
Never been a fan of Worcester. It's a decent enough place but always found it dull when I visited mates there. Malvern is a lovely little town and of course, where they make Morgan Motor Cars.
I'm also from Warwickshire so of course I'll never give props to the rival county
