Whether he knew this as a plater or platee, I have no idea, I strongly suspect the former.

When the Chicago Plaster Casters were getting their latest victim 'ready' for making the cast, the girl tasked to do so was called the 'plater'. (As detailed in the book "I'm With The Band" by Pamela Des Barres). I assumed it was American slang but perhaps they learned the word from a British rock star.
