The busiest, most interesting and fun part of this forum should be the TS section.
That is the Flagship and as y'all say that section was what drew practically every one of us here in the first place.
And that is the way it used to be.
Back then talkSPORT was interesting with presenters who had people flocking here to rant about them or high five them.
Yer Jimmy the Whale, Gorgeous George, Mike Dicken RIP, Porky Parry on the breakfast slot, H & J in their prime,
Durham on FFE when he was a half decent presenter.
The old style "friends of the station" like Gab Marcotti, Charlie McCann and Doctor Karl from Neighbours.
Even the cunt presenters were good for this board because people found their way here to vent about their cuntishness.....Bovis and Irani.
Then there were the callers.
Remember them?
Colourful characters like Lee the Baggie, John from Derry, Lee from Enfield, that arl Scots bloke who called into George every Friday night, Imran from Bradford, the oul geezer from Northern Ireland.
Nowadays you hardly ever hear a caller.
Love them of loathe them, those presenters and those callers became interesting topics of discussion on here and kept the board vibrant.
IMO the downward March of TS is what is really the cause of the slowness of TF these days.
It is absolute dross of the blandest kind.......the rot really set in when TS went all sport, dropped variety in its programmes and dropped the worst waste of spacee on the station ever, Richard Keys, right unti their prime time slot in mid morning.
So you don't find many people hearing sommat on TS these days who feel the need to Google the station and find our board somewhere among the TS related links.....the way I did a long time ago when Brazil was sacked and I needed to find out more about it.
It us all up when the most interesting programme on the station these days is stuck away in the wee small hours of the morning.
I rarely listen to TS nowadays and when I do, it is even rarer that I want to comment on it.
There is no new blood to replace the natural wastage one sees on all message boards.
Message boards themselves have declined in popularity since their heyday in the first decade of this century.
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.
