Five Guys

Post by theleader82 »

I went the american burger chain Five Guys for first time yesterday in Birmingham after fixing German market. The food and service was really good but it was £8 for one cheeseburger. I think I'd go again but only as a treat every couple of months or so. Maybe chipotle will come over next or Taco Bell, I've never tried them.

Taco Bell is ( in both senses ) near the bottom in the ranking of US fast-food outlets. Burritos, quesadillas, etc.

For really good burgers and outstanding fries it's hard to beat Inn' Out Burger.

In-N-Out burgers were outstanding

Best burger I've had in the UK is at the West Rock Coast Cafe in Blackpool. Magnificent

I went to the London branch of Five Guys and there was a sign that said something about adding free bacon to your shake.

I assumed this was some illiterate attempt to say that you could have free bacon in your burger if you bought a shake, so I asked for it - in more ways than one.

Anyway, my burger arrived with no bacon, and I mentioned this, and they brought me some bacon.

You are probably ahead of me, and by this time my suspicions were aroused too...

Sure enough, I took a slurp of shake only to get a mouthful of vanilla mixed with crushed crispy bacon.

Needless to say, it was revolting.

What the fuck is that all about?

I was passing the other day and looked in to see if the sign was still there. It was.

There's a few Chipotle's in that London. Often go to the one in Charing Cross Road. Always have the burrito. Cheapish fast food and very large and filling. Great for people watching and almost opposite Foyles as well. :) There's a few Taco Bell's in the UK as well, though never been, Mike.

Liked Wendys when Stateside. Went large and massive drink and fries meant enough left for breakfast.

Chipotle is a great hangover cure. Yum.

Tortilla and Poncho 8 are better burrito chains than Chipotle, imo.

For a burger? As Kev said, In and Out and Johnny Rockets are the ones to beat.

It's silly expensive and not all that great.

Burger, fries and a drink will set you back a minimum of 12 quid.
