I have greatest respect for Rugby Union, they started it mid-way through the 19th century. Thankfully we grabbed it and turned it into a spectacle on 29th August 1895

Yes, Sweden in May, Kevin. 8) Keep meaning to go back to Wales. Had a friend in Swansea, then Cardiff so been there a few times, and a week in Pembrokeshire, was bewtiful, Mike, so maybe north Wales some time. Anglesea always struck me as quite romantic yet sinister.

Had five days on Vienna for Eurovision, lovely, maybe ban myself and some winter sun again in Tenerife and need some time in Dam, been a couple of years, but further afield in 2016.

Russia and Oz both tempting, but naggingly still want to go to North Korea, One of those three anyway.

Went to Aberdare a couple of years back, close to the Brecon Beacons National Park. Amazing views.

Not sure yet.
Probably go somewhere near the Med in September for two weeks.

Went to Ol' Pet's stomping ground in the Algarve last year (Carvoeiro) - was ace.

Treyarnon Bay is my favourite UK beach, Zambo. It is stunning.

Trevone, Harlyn, Constantine, Polzeath are also superb
If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

Cheers Steve, hopefully will be able to see those as well. Only been to Bude and Redruth before in Cornwall, it's a county I've not been in much.

Base Truro

Port Isaac
Treyarnon Bay
Newquay (The Blackpool of the south - you really don't want this as it will no doubt be filled with 18 year olds who have just finished their exams getting shit faced. Why not Perranporth or St Agnes or Padstow instead?)
Lands End (Don't bother it's pants and will be filled with tourists - go just beyond it to Sennen Cove instead, which will also be busy but is stunning in comparison)
Cape Cornwall (Is great - if you are able to do walks of any length then continue on the coastal path towards Pendeen, the old mining works in that area and the general coastal scenery are fantastic (Also The Queens Arms in Botallack is my favourite pub/place to eat, real off the beaten track gem of a country pub). The coastal road from Cape Cornwall/Pendeen round to St Ives is also great for views, walking the coastal path is even better but not for the faint hearted or those that don't like heights!)
Minack Theatre
Penzance (Don't bother - it's a great base for reaching other parts of the far west, but in itself you are wasting a day/ half a day of your holiday going here - if you've done Marazion then go on to here instead of going in to Penzance itself - http://www.tremenheere.co.uk/ - highly recommended by everyone I've taken there - also in my opinion better than Trebah which you've listed further down)
Marazion (Ben's Kitchen)
St Ives (Is always rammed and you will probably have your food nicked by seagulls, you might just be early enough in the season for it to be tolerable - if you do go there then use the park and ride and take the train into St Ives - only 10 minutes or so, but the branch line is one of the most picturesque in the country and driving through St Ives itself is a nightmare)
Lost Gdns of Heligan
Readymoney Cove
Trebah Gdns
Pendennis Castle (As you're based in Truro, why not go by boat to Falmouth? You should get out on the water at some point during your stay and that's a great one to do. Falmouth has plenty of places to eat or drink or if you want to go somewhere a little more intimate then St Mawes is a good alternative, also reached by boat from Truro (see http://www.falriver.co.uk/). Pendennis Castle itself isn't that great but could be fitted into that itinerary if you wanted to go there)
Lanhydrock House/Gdns
What you are missing:
The clay pits around St Austell:
Image
The Lizard peninsula - Kynance Cove is stunning or Cadgwith for the ambience and places to eat/drink, Porthleven is also a picturesque fishing port in that area with a good beach
Tintagel/Boscastle - although probably too far from your base, this part of Cornwall is must see for me

All the above is only an opinion - you can easily do your own research on any of the places I've recommended. 8)
Come for the rampant misogyny, stay for the tedious bitching

Funds, Chris. The usual.
I just forked out for the wee girls joint 16th birthday/finished her GCSEs trip to Ibiza which she is taking next week. The car needs a bit of a buggering about with to just pass the MOT and neither me and my missus has a valid passport at the minute and thats the guts of 200 quid right there too. The two of us hope to get a long weekend in London or Edinburgh or somewhere in the autumn though.
