Hello. And goodbye.

Post by Alex »

Hello

As some of you may know, my name is Alex and I have been running this message board in one form or another since 2001.

As you may have noticed over the last few years, my appearances on-line have become considerably more infrequent to the point where managing this message board has become less pleasure and more chore.

I no longer have the time and motivation to do this site justice and I think it's only fair to hand over the reins to someone who has both the time and willing to invest.

This decision has not been taken lightly (fuck, whom I kidding!), but the time has come to finally step away for good rather than lurk in the shadows.

As Mark has been running the forum for the last few years it seemed correct to give him first refusal to pick up the baton (and importantly the funding responsibility). I trust everyone will support Mark.

Thanks to the thousands of users - those who've been and gone, the moderators who've given countless hours of their time to support this site and in particular Dan, who has been around since the beginning.

It's been a roller-coaster.

Goodnight.

Alex.

Thanks Alex. All the very best in your future endeavors.

@Mark - serious suggestion r.e. funding of the site. I'm sure there are a fair few regulars who may be happy to chip in a fiver or tenner a year to contribute towards the running costs. Not a sub or anything like that but more in the way of a donation with no requirement to donate if people can't / don't want to.

Further to this, I would happily chip in a few quid if it helps

Money wise it's not a problem unless we end up growing the site beyond what it currently is. If that happens I will come back and ask but thanks for the offers.

I didn't know you at all Alex but thanks for starting this site and keeping it going for so long, it's a little nugget of gold in a sea of internet shit, good luck to you in whatever you do next.

Congratulations Mark, hopefully now a Scouser has got the reins all this moronic piss taking out of Liverpool will come to a halt, it's juvenile and pathetic!

Count me in for making a donation as well :smt023

Hello Alex

I don't think you and I have ever spoken to each other (as in posts obviously), but I am sad to see you go.

My very best wishes to you and yours for the future, may you have many more years to come, and who knows, perhaps you might just lurk again.

Goodbye, and thank you for all your work.
