Next week marks the 10 year anniversary of mike's death

Terrible loss. For me, mike was what TS was all about. A different perspective

I only got interested in the station because of him. so refreshing and funny

r.i.p. mike

Was a great broadcaster in his pomp, sad to say he was phoning in his contributions for the last few years on air. An ever decreasing rotation of parking tickets, speeding cameras and immigration.

Used to do his 10pm sunday show from an office under a dental surgery. Tipped up at 9.40pm and plugged in the ISDN line. Having consumed a copious amount of alcohol he felt a bit weary and went for a lie down on a coach. Suffice to say he wasn't awake at 10pm and Mike Mendoza was put on air at a minute's notice.

He was a pain in the arse at times but, yes, comparing him to the drivel on most of the time these days, he was great.

Mike Dickin, Ian Collins overnight, James Whale, Tommy Boyd, H&J in their pomp, Adrian Durham before he became a liar VERSUS Andy Goldstein, Adrian Durham lying, Mick Quinn, Darren Gough, a permadrunk Alan Brazil, Mike fucking Parry. No contest.

Killed on the A30. Wonder how many times he drove from Cornwall to London and back every week.
Loved his tirade against mobile speed cameras ,clampers and parking tickets. A true motorist.
Whale did a good tribute show the day after.

Ha, on Truth Wars they have a thread titled: 'Was Mike Dickin of TalkSport Assassinated ?'

I mean, his shows were dire and I do live in his neck of the woods, but even I never thought about doing anything as drastic as that.

And btw, Adrian Durham has never been anything other than rank shite from the day he first switched on a microphone.

I began to really like Mike Dickin but A fortnight before he died I said to my mate that if he continues saying those things MI5 will assasinate him and the rest is history...

And nobody has ever tried to assassinate Durham...that we know of!

Polonium in the vagina of his inflatable wife seems a good way of doing that and avoiding any unecessary collateral damage. Get his nubbin glowing.

Yes - him and late Paul Smith of "Safespeed", one killed in a car crash, the other dead of a heart attack due to being a cyclist hater.
