You can call the City Center Notts. The Football club County Notts, cricket team also. But JW with his attempted insult didn't work by saying Notts on its own, especially to locals in Nottingham. Notts County fans themselves refer themselves as Notts and much less County. There's even a saying that if one refers themselves as County you can't be a supporter of Notts County.
