Tommy Boyd and other Archives

Post by AlcoholBrazil »

phpBB [video]

Stumbled upon YouTube dpro73 who has an archive of old TalkRadio stuff. The quality is poor but
another door to the past, still the same.

Ah it's that guy who's ripped off a load of my audio. Not the Boyd stuff, that's from one of the Boyd sites. I uploaded a collection of clips of Caesar The Geezer, other early talk radio clips. I'm not annoyed at him reposting them because everyone does that, but he hasn't bothered to put the dates on most of mine. What's the point of an archive if you don't pass on all the necessary information?

So hang on, you are having a go at someone nicking your stuff, when you nicked it, effectively, in the first place?

I thought anything non-musical had no copyright and if released in a podcast form, it is public domain.

I recorded it off the radio (not all of it but looking at what he's uploaded it's a sizeable chunk), encoded it, dehissed the tapes, edited it, added the date to every filename.
If I hadn't done that it wouldn't be available for him to repost. I don't care about the reposting, it's how archives survive, but he's posted the majority of them without adding the date. An archive is more useful when the dates are included. So you've got someone's first or last show for example, but when was it? I dunno because he hasn't included the date.

but if you did , I won't tell anyone on here. :D

Yeah but someone broadcast it in the first place, you know got the engineers to build the studio, got the people to speak into the mics, got the people to build the transmitters.....

"Stealing"/"copying"/"recording" isn't the issue, try re-reading my post again. I said it's not the re-posting that annoyed me but that he didn't bother adding any of the dates which I'd carefully added to every file.

Yes, I think I posted a comment. There's so many files I can't remember which one I posted it on though, but youtube emails you if you get a reply and I've not had any response so far.

I often play the Caesar tapes you provided LaaLaa that smoking protest one has always been one of my all time favs.
