Woke up three or four times through the night and didn't hear Forde once. I heard most of the other presenters though.

I heard him briefly just after 2, he was going on about ice lollies and sweets. I got the impression he had a friend lurking in the background, may have been the producer though.

Wouldn't it be interesting if one night during Forde's show the system that plays all the recorded clips of other presenters broke down all night long along with the commercials player and the news bulletins then we'd see how talented the useless fucker was.

Touting for drunk mugs that want to throw money away on texting chocolate-themed footballers. I could do that on here for nowt.
In days of old I could listen to a pensioner pretending to be a 18 year old nympho for the same price.

Pay Billy no mind. He's from South Yorkshire you see, a place where they don't have an inch of the wit, repartee or grey matter as us more discerning folk have further North.

I have just sat and watched the link on the page for more of Matt Forde's comedy and impressions Maude and this is what I think, but before I get to that can I just correct you on a few things pertaining to the humour of South Yorkshire people and the county in general.

First off we are not quite exactly the roughneck area you imply, we're top of the council list at our house to have our outside bog ripped down and a new inside one installed any month now just to mention as an example. They've also told us within the next few years we may even be plumbed in running water on tap to save having to go outside to the hole in the garden and that's just two things I could go on. (there is talk that the cobbles might come up outside on the road but I think that's just a rumour)

Regarding humour we like a laugh up here like everybody else only last week I had a good laugh myself when I read a post you'd written proclaiming Forde was popular and funny. (in fact that one gave me hysterics so much I got a belly ache)

Anyway to the real point I wanted to say I have just watched that link for Forde in concert, now most of the time I am just jesting about wid you but this time I am absolutely stone cold sober serious ok, in that 9 minutes 4 second film of Forde there was not one single joke that made me laugh anywhere. If the jokes WERE funny I honestly would say so, I would say the jokes were funny even if I thought Forde was rubbish.

Anyone could write Forde's material because none of it is in the least bit funny, you can tell this by the dull responses from his audiences after every joke, all you ever hear is embarrassed half-hearted titters from happy clappers probably being 'encouraged' to do so by studio cards held up instructing them to laugh.

Regarding his array of dodgy impressions they are about as good as you or I could do or the average bloke outside on the street, to be frank I think he has a real nerve doing them because he's simply awful at them and that I'm afraid is a fact. (he is in fact a Sad Act and they are really sad)

Now I don't for a millisecond expect you to agree with any of that at all but there it's said.

Post of the year. You nailed that to a tee.

Forde has set himself up as a comic but lacks all the attributes that make a good comedian. Comic timing to him is expecting everyone to laugh after a so called joke. When that doesn't happen (as is to be expected) there's a very uncomfortable silence and he swiftly moves on to the next gag which he finds funny in his own mind.

In the old days a decent comic would turn the audience if he felt it was going downhill. These days they call the Police and claim it's harassment in the workplace and have the hecklers chucked out.

The north has got to be the strongest nose for comedy, as it's supposed to be grim up there, and that's why some of the best come from that region. You can't suddenly decide to be a comedian for career reasons and expect laughs. There's a lot more to it and forde han't got any of it.

We've agreed on this before but there are funnier bloke at work than he will ever be.

I never realised you were part owner of talkFORUM Maude and owned your very own thread I'm impressed mate impressed no end did you carve it out for yourself like the early settlers that reformed the wild west?. Don't take anything personal as nothing is directed at you only at the fake comedian for his wretched act I allus enjoy our little conversations.

I'm sure if I and most other people had the bottle to stand on a stage and tell jokes to an audience nobody would laugh and that's fair enough as far as I am concerned because I am not a fucking comedian. The same evidently applies to Fordey but he doesn't get the message, funny people are born that way you can't make yourself funny it's a natural thing. If he told the funniest gags in the land I still wouldn't find him funny you have to have a mixture of good material, good delivery and amusing personality.

Your bang right about there being funnier people at work I spent 38 years in heavy industry and more years in other lines of work and met dozens of funnier people (men and women) most of them were funnier than Mister Forde.

..... but Maude loves him so at least he has one fan.

Stick with it Maude your doing a grand job.

The only two points worthy of consideration and proved by this and part 1 of the thread:

Dear Fatts never knows if his hero is on TS or not.

Dear Fatts and his partner, claim to listen to the podcast now, good old days it was with an ale or two together. Fatts does not comment on Forde's show.

All most queer. One may say he never listens, PSM? No. Poor wag as always? Yes.

Well Said .Carlos =D> . Surely this gig must be up before the autumn. When Liam Fisher finds the cojones to review the station , and to give the schedule a spring clean,
and will find that Forde is a nasty little spider lurking in the corner of the Talksport ceiling busy building cobwebs.

Super efficient correct summing up there JG why say it in 300 words when 3 like that do it superbly.

Its hard to tell if he's shite on the radio because he's hardly ever on his own programme (and that includes when he's presenting it).
