I can only catch Iain's podcasts but they seem to be really funny. Next time I am off of work and doing an all nighter, I will have to listen in live.

Agree best show over both stations.

It's good so far but then it's similar in ways to Tommy Boyd, Ian Collins AND Danny Baker, and I always liked their most eclectic output.

Not sure playing the entire Littlest Hobo theme tune every night is working, though. But, overall, it's working for me.

Nigel from Maidstone call last night to the Iain Lee show on talkRADIO.

The low-spirited presenter was feeling down already and had just spent about 10 minutes talking sadly but openly on-air about his aged mother being in hospital in pretty poor health, .... when Nigel rings in.

I think what followed was Nigel being tested with the most searching questions I've ever heard asked of him. On first hearing it my view was the presenter was too hard on him, but having listened more and thought harder I now don't think he was too harshly dealt with.

Nigel has an agenda when he rings a radio station, he doesn't want to listen to what's being said and have a conversation he just wants to play his songs so my view is you get what's coming if you ring a radio show especially a show like the Iain Lee show.

Just my view and others will think differently.

I just love Iain Lee's straight-to-air calls after midnight you get some right fruitcakes phoning in.:D Last night Dave rang in, the first time he rang it was before midnight so he had to go through the normal procedure of speaking to a phone opp but when he kept ringing in after that because he felt he was being cut off he was put straight to air because it was after the deadline.

The thing is though he didn't know he was going straight to air and thought he was speaking to a phone opp called Steve.

Don't normally listen past 11, but keep thinking I should. Have you been on his show Billy?

If you were to ask me why I like it, I would struggle to say what makes it listenable. It's probably a bit like Danny Baker. If you analyse his shows they are bits and pieces, but they make an enjoyable listen overall.

No mate I haven't ever been on his show I'm just a listener. I'm a convert to Iain Lee in the past I didn't rate him that much but in fairness to him that was because I hadn't really listened to him enough the guy's very quick witted and funny, Fordey who is a bit of a mate of his must sometimes listen to his show and turn green with envy because he's so funny while Forde couldn't raise a laugh to save his life. The only problem with the Iain Lee show is lack of the callers so far, when it's like this you do find him banging on a bit but when the switchboard lights are flashing there are few out there on radio as good as he is.

After midnight is straight-to-air hour and that's when the real fruitbats ring in and some of it is brilliant comedy.

It seems easy to host a show like this, but as you say, other shows prove it isn't. Some people have the personality to carry it off and Iain is one of them. Last night he said "the start of the show feels strange, it's not working or is it just me". Not many presenters would have the bottle to admit to it, unless they were saying it for the ironical effect.

Tonight he's interviewing Gilbert O'Sullivan. Now I'm not a fan particularly, but I'll listen because there will be substance to the interview. That's because Iain interviews people that he is interested in; it also means no Alan Caddick :)

Awww I like Alan Caddick lol, did you hear it last week when he fell asleep on his bed while on the phone to the show, Iain left his faders up all show and we heard him snoring, farting and swearing in his sleep for the rest of the show on top of everything else that was going on.

I did hear that. He makes a fair bit of noise when he is awake, but it's worse when he's asleep. He sounds a hell of a catch for some lucky lady.

I ashamed to say I never listen live to the show! As I tend to get up very early, so I tend to go to bed fairly early! But the podcasts are wonderful!

I mainly listen to the Iain Lee show via podcast as well it's the best way unless you want to be stuck by a radio while 1.00am every night.

I use this website below to download his podcasts, they are unofficial podcasts but they are safe and very good, all the adverts, news and other crap is removed and there's a host of different ways you can download them I use the 'Direct Download' option. [first one on the left]

Jonathan can take being insulted like no one I've ever heard. Having said that, maybe he doesn't regard the words as insulting.

A thoroughly unpleasant man, but his calls are strangely addictive listening.

Iain is executing a form of call to call psycho-analysis with him.

Jonathan is a deeply scarred individual who appears to have no empathy, especially for himself.

This is still one of my favourite calls ever to a radio station.

It's long at 26.23 but for me it's worth the wait.
