I am so glad Gorgeous George will be back on the airwaves.
I hope that arl Jock bloke wot used to call him of a Friday night is still above the daisies so he can once more give his views on current events.

If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

Never cared for his show back on TS...but looking back it was a million times more interesting than anything else broadcast at that time on TS now, or at most times of the day, to be fair.Steve Hunt wrote:AlcoholBrazil wrote:Me too . I don't particularly like his politics much but he's a fantastic broadcaster so I'll be tuning in just like I did with virtually every show he did on TS in the days when it was worth listening to.
Shame about old Commie Karl. He was a great contributor himself

Wasn't the jock Ken from Lincoln and the Highlands? A God bothering singer. His song is somewhere in the TS2 thread top of main TS discussion.Petingo wrote:That's the boy, Zip.Zippy wrote:Karl from Plaistow?Petingo wrote:I am so glad Gorgeous George will be back on the airwaves.

I think Karl from Plaistow was an atheist.
Are you thinking of the arl bloke used to come on to the Colonel's programme, playing a tune on some instrument of other and making up daft songs?

It was definitely Karl from Plaistow who pretty much had his own weekly slot on the Mother of All Talk Shows. Ken was indeed a caller to other programmes including Collins.

Ken was great. He'd just break out into song. His calls to James Whale and the subsequent way they were handled were hilarious.mark wrote:It was definitely Karl from Plaistow who pretty much had his own weekly slot on the Mother of All Talk Shows. George was starting to go off the rails a bit towards the end of his TS stint, cutting people off if they dared disagree with him. But even slightly loony George is better than most of the dross on TS so I'll be listening

Always liked listening to George but found his Friday night phone ins a little too heavy. He was really good on few mid morning shows he did and came into his own when he was co-hosting with Collymore one week about depression. Cracking show.
Please don't hoover up all the bollocks for yourself. Leave some for others.
