I think you will find the Conservative vote was considerably higher, to compensate for the Labour vote being considerably lower.

Nah that's not what happened ,both parties got more votes and an increased share of the vote in 2015.

Labour were butt fucked by the Jocks but this was outweighed by the increase of their share of the vote in England.

But as UKIP are finding out it's bums on seats that actually count not share of the vote.

The reason the main 2 increased their share of the vote was because Labour got ousted in Scotland, and the same thing happened to the Liberal Democrats in England.

UKIP went from 3% of the share of the vote to 13% share

To say they didn't make any inroads is beyond pathetic and into the realms of the bizarre, there are ostriches with their arses in the air that are more aware of what's going on around them.

The SNP stood in 59 constituencies and got circa 25k votes in each - a great success & 50 odd MPs

UKIP stood in 600+ constituencies and got circa 6k votes in each - an abject failure & 1 MP.

The only party to substantially lose its share of the vote (along with ‘minor’ losers such as respect & TUSC whatever that is) was the Libdems, losing over 15%. Labour gained a pathetic 1.5% of the libdems’ misfortune, - guess which party gained the most?

The BNP went from 500,000+ in 2010 to about 1500. I wonder which party that half million voted for?

Labour's vote share up a very healthy 3.6% in England substantially more than the Tories gain.

Oh and 'the people's army' 'success' was replicated in the local elections where they only took a couple of hundred seats out the seven or eight thousand available.
