The only reason you need not to vote labour

Post by colinthewarriormonkey »

Fucking hell, this is tragic.

So you're going to cancel a tax - and then use the "savings" you make by not having any money to so something with it.

This is why they cannot be trusted, they don't even know how money works.

Fuck me, you've missed the point enirely - read it again.

And again

Until you realise what she is actually saying.

I'll give you a clue - it has fuck all to do with the bedroom tax and everything to do with the fact that she doesnt understand money.

It is Labour's contention that scrapping the "tax" could produce an overall saving, though I am not sure this is what Ms Reeves meant.

Yeah but the saving is in all the pockets of the people who aren't having to pay bedroom tax. They'd only have to introduce some other tax if they want to get their hands on all that saved money.

So far as I am aware no one actually pays this "tax" in the conventional sense. Labour contend that in the long run the cost of providing housing benefit will increase under the present system. I do not think that they can properly demonstrate that this is the case at the moment but if they are right then obviously scrapping the "tax" would reduce the cost to the taxpayer.

So they could then give all the money to Scotland.

Bedroom tax is a subset of housing benefit.

Go back and look at why and how we need to have housing benefit at all.
