Short termism or not, I reckon that there will be a whole mass of people who voted UKIP at the last local elections to register their dissatisfaction with the main parties, and who back most of the UKIP manifesto, who either won't vote, or think that a vote for UKIP will be wasted, as they haven't a cat in hells chance of getting in.

So what I'm really saying is that we will be shafted again by either the Tories or Labour. The thought of Milliband in bed with Sturgeon is of course the worst vision of the lot. I can't agree that another 5 years of Labour would be a small price to pay, I think it could be a huge one.

I'll bloody try, but my husband won't be able to, so I applied for a proxy vote, just got the proxy voting card, and instead of my husband's name being on it I am, apparently, being a proxy for some bloke in the next street, who isn't even registered as requesting a proxy vote (so the girl on the helpline told me) she doesn't know 'what went wrong'

Words fail me.

Voted Labour all my life but this time it's UKIP for me even though I know they haven't a prayer of getting in because people in this country are sheep when it comes to picking a government and always put the big two in. I'm standing by my promise to vote for them as I want an end to the Germans and French running us and an end to mass immigration from EU countries.

The only time I ever posted on digicr*p was during one of my bans from talkFORUM a couple of years ago. Get your facts right.

I will do just that.

I shall hire an expensive lawyer to witness the accusation and call a press conference later just so everyone knows. Especially as you have just made that up and are in danger of perjury.

Digging around in the undergrowth of political comment and it turns out a left of centre group have has a sneak preview of some of the postal votes. Miliband has courted various labour supporting desperados like Russell Bland since the disclosure as well as tried to pander to the Muslim vote.

If the UK suddenly has a collective bout of insanity and votes someone in so obviously unfit for such high office , then this country is truly past the point of being completely fucked. Fortunately it doesn't seem so.

Fascinatingly the centre-left political blog Labour Uncut may have come up with an explanation as to why Miliband is now behaving so rashly. Apparently a number of Labour agents last week gained a glimpse into the early returns of postal votes as part of the verification process, and these apparently showed that the Tories are doing better than the opinion polls suggest.
Although I'd like to see UKIP win a huge vote just to kick these two parties back into line despite the fact they will not win, I still want a sufficiently high tory vote not to get a Labour government under Miliband or any other labourite who has severed his ties from the British working man. John Smith was the last hope. Miliband would be a complete and utter embarasment heaped on a national disaster.

It really does make you wonder given how puppet like these politicians really are in the hands of their far more powerful controllers if they knew this all along to ensured a second tory term just when it is needed given the utter ineptitude of the current LAbour party.

Pretty unlikely.

What is unlikely. Ukip getting a large vote or the current set of politicians being controlled from above?

The former is very likely, especially in areas that are solid Labour wards as a tory vote won't win either so you may as well register your support for UKIP if you have any. If PR was the case you'd definitely see a huge UKIP vote. It's one reason why the two main parties would like to avoid it at all costs.
