Rupert Bell appreciation thread

Post by Zippy »

Affable, intelligent, respected and a true professional. What's more, he clearly has no time for the likes of Brazil and co. Gave a few verbal shoeings to Irani too as I recall.

All hail Rupert 8)

Totally agree. He gives Pisstank short shrift and the dislike of him subtly reverberates in his vocabulary (which Fat Fuck obviously doesn't notice). The Obese Whale's approach to people he doesn't rate (pretty much everyone he mistakenly believes is below him in his fucked-up world outlook) is out-and-out bullying. Disappointingly, the main target of this - Ian Abrahams - is too much of a soft shit, not to mention a fucking awful sports reporter, to actually do anything about it.

Moose takes it because he knows no other station or newspaper on the planet would employ him.

Very true, but one does hope he just snaps one day and batters Pisstank to death with a bacon sandwich.

Went up in my estimation when he told us all earlier in the week that he was one of the pitch invaders at Villa Park, always thought his Villa allegiance was in the Prince William/David Cameron envelope

I was amazed when he finally tipped a winner yesterday(Dodging Bullets), having given nothing but losing tips for the past dozen years!

He later revealed that he didn't actually back it. :)

This Bell character has admitted to being one of the mob who invaded Villa Park last weekend. A mob which intimidated our players, staff and fans.

Comes across as a funny guy and actually knows what he is talking about - a strange trait for anyone associated with TalkSport.

He's got a lot of time for bookies, by the way.

Good old Rupert. "I'm a vain old bugger". Class

I'm a Bellend as well. man who loves his sports, though only on racing a specalist. Golf and tennis, he goes and sometimes knows well.

A decent cove.

I'd say he's just as much a tennis specialist. He freelances on the ATPs dedicated Tennis Radio channel and has been employed as one of the main commentators on Wimbledon radio for years.

I suspect someone pointed out his mistake. Check the audio, he definitely said 'squid' :P
