If you really want to depress yourself then just google image the words "British comedians".
Though prominent in the the first ten or so pictures that do assaut your eyes is one of Dave Allen, who was not British, and sadly, is not currently a comedian.
He did have more talent than the combined pictures of the first ten pages of that particular google combined. That isn't hard mind.
