The Crown

Post by colinthewarriormonkey »

My missus wanted to watch this but I grumbled a bit, then I heard a bloke I know tell me that he was in the same boat but he ended up really enjoying it.

I thought I'd give it a go despite the fact it really isn't the sort of thing I'd normally watch and I have to say it was fucking fantastic.

Brilliantly well done and made a gripping drama out of what were troubled times for the UK, by bringing a lot of the difficulties the government at the time had to deal with into it.

Thoroughly recommended.

Indeed. Great tune, featuring Stevie Wonder (when he was good).

If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

Thought it would be a bit naff but said I'd give it one episode a go. Ended up binge watched the whole fupping thing over the course of two weekends. DAMN IT! :x

Claire Foy does really well with what must be a difficult character to play. The Queen must have had to suppress a lot of her personality over the years and it actually makes for surprisingly good drama, alongside the political shenanigans.

Only serves to remind me what a ridiculous institution the monarchy is though.

I have greatest respect for Rugby Union, they started it mid-way through the 19th century. Thankfully we grabbed it and turned it into a spectacle on 29th August 1895
