BBC ALBA
BBC ALBA, It' on 161 on whatever the fuck setup I have. Who watches this fucking shit? I can't even make out what fucking shit they are babbling about. I thought it was Welsh but I think it's Gaelic, but it maybe some obscure fucking mad Scottish nonsense. Fucking hell, it's like watching Nazi TV constantly playing the same propaganda slagging off Jews, but in this case it's slagging off the English.
Fred Kite: I've got to be off. I can't stay here arguing. I've got a lot to do. Report to the Executive, check up on the pickets.
Mrs. Kite: From what I can see, the only time you ever jolly well *do* any work is when you're on strike.

Re: BBC ALBA
Their football commentaries, despite being in Gaelic, are much better and make more sense than those of the BBC and Sky.
And I don't speak a word of Gaelic.

Re: BBC ALBA
I've seen some, mainly due to Kevin here mentioning it. It's OK.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

Re: BBC ALBA
I watch it often. I used to get paid £20 in vouchers every few months for watching it and doing some survey.
Some excellent stuff on it - Trusadh, Eorpa, and you get some very good documentaries, recall a good one about Johnny Cash plus football ones usually narrated and written by Ailig O'. And of course, can't beat an old episode of Machair. Also, they cover shinty too. Rapal has some decent bands, and there are some programmes from Ireland's TG4 which are very good.
Only issue is too many English speaking programmes but they are on a tight budget, but I'd like to see more Gaelic subtitles when English is spoken, and the channel was partially set up for learners too.
An La - the news program is often better than Reporting Scotland's parochial shite too.
An excellent channel and for the money it costs, well worth of it. Whilst there is some pish on it, the likes of Eorpa - documentary series about issues in Europe are miles better than anything on the mainstream channels.

Re: BBC ALBA
Does the lovely Cathy MacDonald present any programmes?
Well, she used to be lovely but I have no idea what she looks like now.

Re: BBC ALBA
Never understood why Gaelic is not the second language in schools in Scotland at least the English have the good grace to teach Welsh to the Welsh.
You can only live in the world you know. The rest is just wishful thinking or paranoia.
