Sutton, Mills and Savage

I attempted to listen to Five Live's 'Monday Night Club' again. This weeks panel of 'experts' consisted of Chris Sutton, Danny Mills, Robbie Savage and possibly someone else who I can' t remember. I can't really write much about it because I'm trying to wipe the horrorshow from my mind. But dear fucking me did I not like that.

Sutton is on a constant downer on everything, Mills is a cocky cunt who is thick but thinks he isn't and Savage, well...what's to be said that hasn't been said a thousand times. If Motson and Claridge were there also I really wouldn't condemn the actions of a suicide bomber taking them all out live on air. Harsh I know, but it's for the greater good.

It was the pits of punditry. Ill-informed, small-minded, jingoistic bullshit. Sutton was appalling, sneery and dismissive of a man just because he's not British. Savage was his usual shouty, moronic self, as was Danny Mills.

How Adrian Bevington, a man who seemed like he wanted to have a discussion using some sort of factual basis, remained so calm amongst the clowns around him is testament to him.

I'm pleased that this show has received the coverage it has. Usually ex-players spouting bollocks is glossed over and ignored but this two hour abomination has correctly been given short shrift in several outlets.

Savage's Mirror column was a lovely piece on how great Ryan Giggs is mixed with anger at how he failed the interview he shouldn't have needed. Prattled on about Powerpoint and human resources documents when he had no clue whatsoever as to the content of the interview and what Giggs said.
