Wyrmwood - road of the dead

Pretty funny Oz horror

Mad Max meets the Walking dead metts Tucker and Dale Vs Evil.

Do NOT watch the trailer though, it pretty well gives away the whole film.

After 'MOTD', an Aussie film, 'Mystery Road '. Trucker finds body, was thinking the glorious 'Road Games', but no.

Aboriginal 'tec investigates an Aboriginal girl dead. Western theme with stetsons noted. Town closes down. Some dodgy plod or not.

A slow moving plot but did keep interest. I cared for the copper.

Then, hey, we are to the magnificent 'Wild Bunch', it's not Peckinpah, but all guns shooting. 8) and a big shoot out finale.

Bad guys do die, good guys win.

A most interesting film, a Carlos 7/10.

Just watched one of the best films I've seen all year maps to the stars , cronenburg
A dark very dark look at Hollywood , every single character is detestable apart from the dog , Juliana Moore is superb , if you want to see her having a threesome and farting on the bog , this is the film for you , there's also a todger at half mast :)
If you think this has a happy ending you haven't been paying attention

Soul boys of the western world , the spandau ballet film , I'm not really a fan of their music but i am very much of that era so found the film pretty good lots of old shots of London , the blitz club etc , Gary kemp was and is a bit of a cunt IMO

Which one Lash? Two knocking about at the minute. One with the boy Hardy who is a good actor and it is getting decent reviews. He's in the movie I left a trailer of above. And then there is the shit one with that wee Wet Spam spitting Image puppet fuck has been involved in. Which looks shite. Haven't seen either and TBH no interest in seeing either. Never got the whole Krays thing but maybe that is because from Norn Iron and The Krays are just...meh long and short of it as far as the big picture goes.

Course I'm not saying that wee wankdog Sullivan has timed it like so...nah. Not saying that at all

Hell yeah. Amongst the best action movies ever made: the first one in particular for me.
The French country house scene with Damon and Clive Owen is superb.

Seen this a few times. A documentary on Scientology. Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief

It's online I think.

Mangelhorn - 2015

Al Pacino plays a lonely, somewhat bitter man who is constantly pushing the little people he has in life away and obsessed with an ex love who he hasn't seen or heard from in 30 years. It's slow, and at times reminded me of an arty Bukowski (maybe one for you Carcaidh), but yeah, it was alright - I was glad it was short 93 mins I think, and in the end it kinda lifted the mood. I like indie films and slow films, but it just feel like this didn't start at all.

Pacino was great though.

And talking about Al Pacino. 'Donnie Brasco' on Spike now. Pacino good. Bought Joe Pistone's book from a charity shop and read before seeing the film. The film ain't too bad a version, though Depp is way too glam as Pistone and as per the book, I actually felt a bit sorry for Lefty Ruggiero in the end. A Carlos 7/10.

I havent seen the film for ages but
Spoiler:
doesnt the film at the very least hint that the mob took care of Lefty like they did with sonny and few others while in reality Lefty died years later of natural causes a free man?

Aloha 6/10

Usually like Cameron Crowe's stuff, and this was alright, but the plot didn't translate in to a flowing story. It was OK though, and definitely not as bad as some of the reviews seem to be.

Soundtrack ace as always too.

Pretty good fun. Recommend. Only half way through mind you.
