Black Mass- disjointed and the mid part to ending felt rushed. Way too much screen time allocated to Joel Edgerton's John Connolly, missing the opportunity to provide depth to Dakota Fanning, David Harbour and the excellent Rory Cochrane's characters. A good movie all the same- Go see it. Depp's best performance since Ed Wood. I suspect, down the line he will be tempted into making a movie about Whitey's years on the run. Such a pity he decided he needed more money than he could realistically piss up the wall, because he's a fine actor. Divorces must be expensive..

Beasts of No Nation.....9/10

One of the best films I've seen in ages, pretty harrowing stuff at times as you would expect from a film about child soldiers in Africa but the performance from the little kid who plays the lead is out of this world, Idris Elba leaves you speechless and it's also directed and written by the bloke responsible for the good stuff in the first True Detective and is beautifully filmed.

Thought provoking, depressing, heavy shit about how evil the human race can be, an immense film.

Me and Earl and the dying girl 7.5'/10

The title is certainly clear. Starts off as a quirky mainstream version of a Wes Anderson film, moves slowly a long with some humorous moments. Enjoyed the scene with the black limo driver - genuine laugh out loud funny, but a sad film, with some great acting. All three main characters are excellent along with the supporting cast brilliant too. Expecting a few Oscar nominees, and possibly a few prizes.

Not seen it for ages, and like most of the world probably watched it last night as well. Was reasonably enjoyable, more nostaligia than anything and Biff's over acting proud some laugh out loud moments. Speaking of time travel, it surely does fly! That film is 30 years old.

Back to the Future Part II 6/10

Not seen it for ages, and like most of the world probably watched it last night as well. Was reasonably enjoyable, more nostaligia than anything and Biff's over acting proud some laugh out loud moments. Speaking of time travel, it surely does fly! That film is 30 years old.

Not seen any of the trilogy in full since the mid 1990s. Loved all the movies but think that they were very much of the era and think they've probably aged in that time which is a shame. Great fun.

Mad Max 3 Beyond The Thunderdome scarred me for a generation. I'll try to wean myself onto this. How was Tom Hardy in this?

Absolutely amazing film, did you notice the only real music was the guitar player tied to the lorry, as things got more exciting so did his guitar playing.

She was excellent, best character in the film. Zoe Kravitz was good too, she's so beautiful.

Physically he was great but I did find his accent a bit strange, he hardly speaks though so it's not too off putting.

I love the first two Mad Max's but hate the third, this is very similar to the second film but more intense.

Yeah the guy playing the guitar was brilliant and a very clever touch, I loved the soundtrack too.

I can't believe George Miller managed to make such a good Mad Max film after all these years, the man is so talented.

Watching the Theory of Everything right now. Enjoying it, watched The Imitation Game months ago which was quite similar and came out at around the same time at the flicks. Both very watchable for someone like me who doesn't have much of an interest in the weighty detail of the subject matter that both Dr Hawking and Turing specialised in yet both have pretty engrossing storylines.

I watched Spectre and have to say Daniel Craig is definitely the best Bond the film was superb and would say it was a 9 out of 10. I almost forgot to say that I loved the tributes to previous characters and Bond Films absolute genius.

The hype behind this movie is ridiculous. I'm going to watch it but to be honest, I don't want to hear a word about Spectre in the media, any reviews, listen to Craig and all sundry having their say. I'm sure it's a brilliant movie but I want to make my own assessment and critique it myself.

Ricki & The Flash 6/10 (2015)

Meryl Streep is an aging rocker in a covers band and has fallen out of touch with her ex-husband(Kevin Kline) and family. It was reasonably decent, although maybe too much music - not the music, but playing the whole song rather than a verse/chorus. It's not the best film in the world, but quietly nice and I quite like that there was no 'baddie' even if certain folk didn't get on. It all worked out in the end, and good auld Rick Springfield on lead guitar is always a winner.

A perfect film to watch whilst zoning in and out, or having to stick the tea.
